Default Help! (wrecked SC, dad wants to sell I want to fix)

Is this really that bad and what should i do with it? Not sure if its fixable or i need the whole bumper replaced. Does anyone know what my best bet is for a body shop around the san jose, ca area? Also just thinking about going to a yard. Not too sure how much a new bumper would cost.God i loved this car and my dads thinking about tossing it. (ps, lights still work)

Go to Imports Cafe off of Monterey Rd. and Southside Ave. They'll take care of you.

First determine if it is cosmetic or structural/engine damage.

If it is cosmetic then go ahaed and price out the cost for repair. The minimum repair you will have to get done is the spotting of lights. Rest depends upon your "style". [you want to be seen driving-or_stepping out of a bent up Lex].

If there is more than cosmetic damage, then you need to weigh the current value + cost to repair vs the street-value-after_repairs.

Last two vehicles I had, it was not worth getting them repaired [I did have strong attachement to the cars before the fender benders].

The smell of the new car is very tempting

As a reference.....

Estimate was at slightly over $7600, minus a $1000 deductible so the total estimate was just about $6600. Car was blue booked at slightly over $9k at the time of repair. Final repair bill after all said and done: $8300.

Find out if youre insurance will cover the cost of repairs.

That impact is weak, fix that thing. Wouldn't cost you hardly anything using the Cl classifieds for parts.

Fix it man. Just remember, man made that car in the first place. So man can fix it. Use that as an opportunity to upgrade your body to the 97 with a fresh new look. This is a chance to make that car really sick.

SimplyZBes, im kinda new to this thing so please bare with me, what do u mean "pm" your boy aliga? Cause yeah, it looks like im going to have to shop around for a front bumper. I think youre absolutly right....i should try to upgrade the body to a 97. Is there a big difference? AND DONT WORRY PEOPLE., IM GONNA TRY TO FIX IT! I'll try not to fail u guys! My dad's been ITCHING to get an accord and although it probably will do me better on gas, im still attached to this damn thing. We all love a lex. I know I know...its such a heartache to see a lex in bad shape. Now im thinking about re-painting the whole damn thing thanx to simply....wait a minute....one step at a time....bumper first godamn it.

Yeah....looks like you just let off the brake and found the wall.
....That doesnt look bad at all.

and for the $8300....looks like a new hood was a good portion of the cost.

LOL....just "Pop that sucker back out and paint it"....
