Default Dilemma and $

How long can I drive around with a bad pwr steering pump? I need to save up the $ to get it fixed. If all the fluid runs out and there's no more to leak into the alternator, how difficult can it get to steer?

It will get very difficult to steer, but no worse than manual steering. If you've ever driven a car made before there was power steering, that's how it'll feel.

You'll make it. Plus, your arms will bulk up from all the extra exercise!!!

Default If my arms bulk up from driving a Lex Coupe with no

power steering, I don't have any problems. It could be worse and they could bulk up from other activities.

if all the fluid runs out on to the alternator then it might fry the alternator down the road. That'll be an extra coupld of hundred $$ so watch out.

I really wouldn't be driving the car. The alternator costs a bunch too. Fix it when you have the money immediately or try to do something about the fluid dripping onto the alternator. This is a very commmon problem in the SCs.

I think he's saying that the fluid is all out, alternator still working fine, can he drive. Which he would be fine doing, albeit not as easily as before.

yea, he'll be fine without power steering. and once he has the money to get it fixed, it'll feel EXTRA SMOOTH when power steering is back.

Will, yes you will be ok. Personally I wouldn't drive the car around too much though until you get it fixed. Cheers to 10+ more years, I'll drink to that

haha this brings back memories, we went on a camping trip with all my friends last year, and the dam PS pump decided to go out, at first I thought no biggie, I can drive like this for a while. That was until I got off the freeway, things changed real quick, lol. If I needed to make a u turn I had to have my passenger help my break the wheel all the way, it was soo dam tough. if u have rims it gets worse the wider your tires the worse it gets so good luck, but if u wanted to you could definitely do it. Good luck

Tommy
