Default My new Snail

I finally got my single turbo manifold from Japan I got it from Drivenconcepts.net 813-767-9792 they import rare parts,. Its used but no signs of cracking.
The GT35R turbo came in today. almost have everything to install. just need t3 flange to weld on t4 manifold flange. all I have to fab is downpipe to meet up with 2jz dowpipe and pressure pipe from turbo to fender.

What is turbine AR? How much HP you aiming for? Where to get more info on modifying 1JZ ?

Turbo look great with that huge 4" inlet.

BTW. My friend got used HKS manifold too. It does come with T4 flang and the wastgate was up instead of down??? and first it look dull like your but after some polishing it look great.

I'm going to 500whp turbo specs : compressor 82mm w/56 trim .70 ar, Turbine 60mm w/84trim 82 ar.
I dont really look anywhere for 1jz modification I owned a 500+ hp s13 before this car so I kinda know what set ups work and what dont. The one thing I kept in mind is that it is auto so I needed something with less lag so I went with the gt series. I might buy a .63 ar turbine housing after set up in installed and compare spool time. Im also installing 2jz cams which are getting machined at the moment to fit this engine this should help spool up also. Im not doing anything else internal. I heard there's a place in Atlanta, GA that is tuning 1jz ecu's Im trying to find out who.

Looking good man...

The manifold looks like it is the Greddy version not the HKS.

I heard there's a place in Atlanta, GA that is tuning 1jz ecu's Im trying to find out who
What exactly do you mean by 'tuning' 1JZ ecu's ?

The ECU cannot be fiddled with on it's own. You would need a signal fudger (a piggyback, like the Apexi SFAC {fuel/air} or HKS FCON-S {fuel/air/timing} )
You cannot use a full Standalone ECU like the AEM or HKS FCON Pro or Apexi FC because you have the Autobox....

I think it is greddy manifold. Well on the ecu they are soldering a daughter boad like I used to do on the sr20det ecu's, but again this is not for sure

could you go more into depth about this?? Are you saying because of his auto. tranny he cannot use a standalone ecu??? Im sorry if this is a stupid question, i am just a bit confused.

Well theoretically he can use an HKS FCON V pro or possibly the AEM ECU to control everything, but the mapping for the transmission alone will most likely take longer and cost more then the engine mapping. That is if you can find someone capable enough to do the job properly.

There might be other solutions like the Motec but you are getting into even higher costs..

Easiest thing to do is let the stock ecu manage the tranny and use a Greddy E-manage or HKS FCON S or Apexi SFAC 2 to sort out the rest.
