Default Help Me Please! Climate Control Problem!

Please somebody help me! LOL, i have a problem with my climate control. The blower fan speed always operates at high speed, no matter what the display on the climate control is set at. Once and awhile the fan will go down to the proper speed, but only for a short time. If anyone has heard of this or has any ideas, please contact me. email: bigpoppapumpjml@hotmail.com

first look at what controls it... the ****. remove the **** and test it for resistance and functionality V/S resistance as you rotate it. Also, see if the control will work manually without the ****.

My best advice for troubleshooting. Report back.

I am having the same problem with mine, I am going to take it apart and see what I can find. Did you ever find the problem?

What are the results of the tests OLT suggested?

Also, did you confirm the brain is original, like suggested in the other thread? That does cause known issues.

The **** works fine, if you put it on auto, according to the display it works perfectly, it changes ventilation exits and fans speed on the display just as it should. The problem is that the fan speed does not change as it shows on the display, instead its just full speed 99.9% of the time.

I dont really know how to check the brain, it appears to match, but dont know for sure.

Does the fan speed change if your in manual more often? It may actually be the temp sensor like OLT mentioned for another thread. I am more inclined to think temp sensor or the relay, before the brain.

What year is your coupe and where in IL are you?

I have a spare fully functional 92 brain which you can try - no lcd front attached, but it is plug and play. Plenty of threads abound on how to take it apart.

Im in Terre Haute IN

Geez, this town is the pits... anyway.

Mine is still doing it, whether its manual or auto it only blows on high. Everything else works like it should just that.

Bad power transistor is the most likely problem

The AC **** does not use resistance - the volume one does.

It is an electrical rotary contact and is eligible to have resistance in the contact as all other metal contacts.
