yall go to toyota or lexus
I have a 93 sc400. I called toyota and got quoted 600 bucks for 90k mile service (including timing belt). This seems low. I calle lexus and they wanted 1200 for the same service. I did do a search and saw mulitple opinions. Theres no way i can see paying double just to say lexus worked on my car. What do you think

That famous Lexus customer service comes at a price. I didn't think it would be that much of a difference though.
I do book keeping for a guy that specializes in Toyota/Lexus so I'm well taken care of.

I would never take my car to a Lexus dealer for service. NEVER. No matter how damn good the work is I just can't it being doubly better. I'm a dealer-hater so you may not want to listen to me. I've just had friend's who work at stealerships and I know for a fact that they overcharge for errythang.

I'm not that impressed with Lexus technicians to begin with. Or BMW for that matter. The only thing I am impressed with is the free loaner I get whenever I drop it off. Even for oil changes!!! But then again, I'm paying for it one way or another!

A 92 SC300 is usually worth about $7000 on average. Ain't no way I'm gonna pay Lexus $1200 to do scheduled maintenance on a 15 year old car worth $6500-$7000. They must be insane to even think that...I could put that $1200 down on a newer SC...

My Toyota dealer here probably never done a 90K service and timing belt/water pump change on a Lexus LS4/GS4/SC4, else I would let my Toyota service do the work.
