Who doesn't know what a lexus is?!?! a rant...

It's just a rant...

OH my god! I went to Sears to get some tools and this guy started talking to me and asking if I was finding what I needed. I was like Yeah, I'm just looking at my optons. He kept on talking and asked what I drove... I said a lexus.... and what did I get as a responce... a blank stare... I said a Lexus SC300.... still a blank stare. He asked if it was an import.... I said a branch of toyota... still blank look... I must have had the most shocked and offended look on my face, or at least I felt that I did... WHO does NOT know what a LEXUS is!!! Not to be bratty or anything but I figure if you work near the auto department of a store you would know something about cars!!! Like maybe some of the makes if nothing elce...

The plain ignorance of human beings!!! I mean, I know what a Daewoo is and I know that there are different brands of American cars!!! Oh my god, was I offended. Then when I went to check out the guy asked me who I was buying the tools for and when I said myself he gave me a really really funny like I was crazy... man... what a sad expereince...

Main point... Who hasn't heard of Lexus, and much more, Toyota!!!

how old was he?

CleanSC Feb 8, 2005 06:13 AM

You'd be surprised at the ignorance you can find in some places.

Maybe he's just one of those Washington hermits that lives on a mountain somewhere and only comes down to suck up oxygen as a Sears associate...

That's pretty sad tho. My mother (totally clueless, God bless her) can't tell the difference between my two cars (they are both white) but she knows at least the marques. I mean c'mon how basic is that? Anybody that's breathing should know the difference.

The dude has a bright future. ;)

That's not that bad...

When a girl sits in my car for a while, and then asks what kind of car it is (keep in mind that there are at least 6? badges that say Lexus on it) and says, "is this a new Honda?"

Now that... is bad...
I made her walk home.

:egads:

I'm bad with ages but he was i;d hvae to say like early 20's. I just figured that humans would at least know, especially mid 20's male, talking to me in the car stuffs department, would at least know the major makes of cars.

Yea that's definitely clueless right there.

yeah, once a korean girl sat in my car and starting to ask me what kind of car it is!! I pointed at my steering wheel with a big "L" on it... and she still does not know and ask me is it a honda???!!!! :eek2: People!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-J-P-L- Feb 8, 2005 11:10 AM

A guy in his 20's not knowing what "Lexus" is? :ban: from America!!!

Wonder if he ever heard of a Ford?
You would have to be completely shut off from the world around you. There's like what, 3 million Lexus vehicles on the roads. Ads are everwhere.

I've seen a lot of women who don't know there OWN car's name. Seriously.
They only know their car as a "blue" "Toyota" or whatever it may be. It's funny how a
car's color is the most significant identifier for so many women (I know, not all).

Some people just aren't car guys/gals. As long as they got something to take them from point A to point B, they don't care what it is.

Those damn korean girls! :p

back to topic, i figure a requirement to work in a parts department would be to know what different types of cars are out there.

kind of like my Mother. My aunt (her sister) drives a darker green Rav4 and everytime my mom sees a green SUV on the road while I am in the car with her, she'll ask me if thats my aunt... It is actually quite funny. :)

He kinda left after I just stood there for awhile with a look of disgust... or maybe I left without saying anything... who knows... hehe.

Some of my friends are not car guys and go by color/shape too. I mean I can probably tell you the model of car by looking at the brakelights at night lol, but some of my friends are completely clueless.
