Default Climate Control Not Working

Hey guys,
My climate control unit suddenly stopped working on my 92 SC400. The LCD screen lights up but it wont turn on and none of the buttons work. I checked the fuse and it looks okay. Im worried because now I lost my A/C and my heater. If you know anything about this please share your info with me.
Thanks,
Jake

you didn;t check the fuses good enough. probably a coin or something in the cig plug, but definately a bad fuse.

one out of 7,000 ac units crap out. how good is your luck?

It's in your kick panel fusebox. I had that same problem a few years ago -- it turned out to be a dime in my cig. lighter (I don't smoke, so I never noticed!)

Same thing happened to me, except I'm poor, so I found a penny instead of a dime in the cig lighter.

The fuse box is located right next to your feet, underneath your dash in the kick panel. You are going to have to pull out your carpet.

Much thanks. I'm on my way to check it right now. Were the coins actually in the lighter?

nevermind. i found the fuse and its okay. i even pulled out a good fuse from my SC300 and it still does the same thing. it would have been strange if the fuse went bad and the light on the LCD screen still worked. Im gonna try to disconnect the whole unit tomorrow. maybe ill come across something. but please share if you have any other suggestions or tips.
thanks,
jake

Oh sorry. I thought there was only one fuse that could make the climate control unit stop working. Which other fuses should I check? Or should I just check all of them?

Check all your fuses in the kick panel by your left foot under the dash and the fuse box under the hood. Same thing happened to me also. CC unit would light up, but no LCD numbers or figures. Funny, I used to leave the cigarette lighter out of the socket so no one would ever smoke in the car, but I also found a coin in there that blew the fuse.

Whoops, late response.

i recently had this problem as well......... a bad car charger for my celly shorted out the Cigarette lighter and blew the fuse.......... and.................................. it also killed the AC etc. like you say.......

The fuse is labeled CIG i believe........... its in the middle towards the front of the car..... It is the furthest towards the front of the car fuse in the middle..... check the diagram..... its the CIG fuse!!
