I know what you mean, I need some of those damn clips too. As for the grommets Maybe you could get something close at a hardware store? Let me look at mine closely tonite and see if I can think of anything. Which dealer gave you the clips for free? I need to go and get some.

But that's weird that your carpet doesn't have the grommets...but then again grommets aren't something exclusive and hard to find, I'm sure you could find something useable locally. I'll let you know if I think of anything.

You know who's good with stuff like that? CL member "PerryinLA"...he's a really handy dude and he's helped me out a bunch of times. Give him a holla and see if he has any ideas

Default My ears must have been burning, Mike....!

FYI- you can also get the "Retention Clip" part number 00208-00801 at the dealer (pack of 2 for $5). When I needed some grommets I visited the hardware store, like Mike said. There usually are these displays consisting of dozens of yellow plastic drawers with all kinds of fasteners in there. One of those drawers usually has carpet grommets in there- that's what I used.

Revived Thread

58297-50020 Carpet Grommet Repair Kit from Toyota. Designed during all the gas pedal recalls, this is an oversize grommet that will work on cars that had their grommets pop out and left a damaged carpet.

The latest hook to use is: 08211-00720

Nice find and a great update to a old problem. Gotta love the commitment to "The Relentless Pursuit Of Perfection" in a lot of our members! I didn't even know those grommets existed. They were never in my SC since I bought it. I guess if they come loose the car wash guys probably just vacuum them up!

I am getting some of those today! I cleaned up my carpet yesterday and It's a bit of a PITA to get those hooks in.

it's all in the details, details, details.

Thank you very much
