I posted this in the GS forum merely to get a larger poll. Sorry for the re-post. But I am looking for the official labor time to install.

"Is there anyone here that works at a Lexus Dealer (or knows someone who does), who can tell me what the official books say is the labor time to install a TC unit. I brought my car in to have it installed, and they quoted me 7 hours at nearly $600 after taxes etc. The guys in the SC forum said it should be 4 or five hours. I'm curious to know exactly what it is supposed to be. Thanks so much in advance."

My car is at the shop right now and I need to know some official numbers incase I need to raise a little hell. Before I pick it up tomorrow. Thanks.

I had my tc installed by Rod Millen and it took no more than 4 hours. They have a guy there who I think is very meticulous on these stuff. I was there all this time, he's really good!

I replaced mine myself and I dropped the tranny in just under two hours and had it back up in just under 3 hours. I was doing it in my driveway and only had a floor jack, no transmission and fancy tools and I am no mechanic. That was actually the second transmission I have ever dropped. Don't let people rip you off becuase it is a lexus. It is just like any other car.
