Talking Auto headlights for 92?

I was reading the post from sourcemine where he was picking up a 93 sc400, we'll the topic of the auto headlamps was brought up and its buggin me because on my 92 ill leave the lights on, remove key, then open door they kick off and as soon as I start the car they kick on again.. sounds like autolamps to me? This is a dumb post i guess but if this isnt the auto headlights then what am i missing out on??? I like learning about the new features my sc's lacking.

i think the auto lamps are for 93+. on my car i have an extra "click" for auto lamps. they turn on when it's dark automatically.

the auto lights means that they come on automatically.....when it gets dark outside...it the highest setting on the turn signal...if you have 4 settings then you have autolights...

Don't know why, but I never use it either. I think because of the switch placement, it's very easy to just twist the stalk and turn it on, so I'd rather just do that. On my S500, I leave the auto lights on all the time. The placement of the headlight switch, on the dash, left of the steering wheel, makes it more of a reach and out of the way. Leave it to the ergonomics of the SC!

I never use it either. I'd rather decide when to turn them on.

When I first got my SC, I also thought "auto" meant that they shut off automatically when key is removed.
