Body Kit is cracked in fender bender
Waiting in line at the drive thru and the GIANT truck in front of me takes the turn to wide. She backs up for another attempt but runs right into my new kit. The crunch took a heartbreaking eternity, and she seemed to reverse half a foot into my car. The crack is actually raised up, like the video you see in school on how volcanoes are made. The paint spider webbed around the crack.
Do any survivers have advice? I took pics at the scene and once I got back home. Her insurance told me I might want to get an estimate but they were unsure of their policy regarding ground effects. They also told me to just get one estimate, but I'm thinking the more the better.
If you've gone thru something like this please relpy, or tell me what to search under. I either get too many results or none at all.
thanks

PS- QUIT talking to her insurance company.

The more the estimates the better, but the highest one wins. It will definitely be fixable with some fiberglass and bondo but it will need to be repainted. If you take it back to the same shop, they might give you a discount for the actual work and write you up for a high estimate. Helps to know if you know the guy too.
Where are you located? I know a guy that does really good work.

take it to the most expensive shop you can find... usually with insurance, you will leave the car with the shop and the insurance adjuster will just go talk with the shop to work out a deal. i think u end up getting more when the insurance adjuster deals with the shop and not you... cuz they will usually try to screw you on the price. the shop will always bargain to be paid more, so let them deal with the insurance co.

Hey thanks! I didn't know I could have her insurance adjuster talk to the body shop. That sounds like the best way to do it. I'm just mad I won't be paid for pain and suffering. I've had the car for about a month with the kit on and now this. At least they have agreed to pay for a loaner while in the shop.
Oh by the way, I think all Taco Shell ( <-- intentional) drive thru's have that crazy turn.
