You should look at this ... doing carbon fiber is really easy if you have a mold already done (i.e. u are just covering plastic pieces)

This guy used to have very detailed instructions on cf stuff but he is updating his site now
This is the link: http://www.bryanf.com/info/cf1.htm
This is his main page: http://www.bryanf.com/

I also stumbled across a carbon fiber forum they have diy instructions somewhere on this site ....
http://www.carbon-werks.com/forum/in...db2edbda8a9415

imho carbon fiber should not be visible on a lexus its a luxury car but to each his own

Luxury is true but the SC = Sports Coupe. All High end "SPORTS cars'" have carbon fiber showing i.e. Aston Matrin, Porsche, Ferrari.
I bet your one of those guys with a LEXUS key chain thinking these cars are soooo high end. I love my sc but I dont consider is a luxury car. I think its has the poorest interior in its class. Ive seen toyota with nicer interior options and layouts. But your right to each its own.

I'm interested in carbon fiber covers for the wood on the dash. Currently I have it covered with carbon look tape. Looks okay but I'd like something better.

I dont think a lexus is that great of a luxury car but that doesnt mean it isnt, its like the lincoln of japaneese car makers. All the cars brands you mentioned are sports cars (and they are using functional carbonfiber)... my comment must have really pissed you have to think that it is necessary to take this thread so off topic ... im sorry and no i dont have a lexus key chain ...

P.S. - is anyone interested enough to try and diy?

Really, I've been on 2 or 3 sites called exotic wood dash. They had cf kits but not for the SC. Which site have you seen it on?

Please. let's get along....

And the SC is an older car...you cannot compare it to newer cars of this era.

SC were sold til 2000 ?
1999 R34 skyline had carbon lip, wing, and rear defuser and interior parts.
Not to mention Lamborghini Diablo with carbon fiber door panels
and Ferrari with carbon parts also in 1999
Is this close enough "Era" for you ?
I think the fact that all these cars were sold and produced in 1999 -2000 in fact puts them in the same era even if the sc was designed earlier.
Just making a point not enemies

Who cares if the SC was sold until 2000? It remained nearly the same all throughout the years, thus IMO making it a '92 car. And are you even trying to compare a Skyline or Lambo to an SC? I mean I like my car, but it doesnt even come close to those...except in the luxury department.

Can you cover the wood on the dash and doors without taking them out? I guess my question is can you make a kit that covers the wood on the dash and doors?

Oh Calvin, I've seen the kits on exotic wood dash. They don't cover the wood, only the console and shifter. I already have aluminum there.

An SC being sold until 2000 doesnt represent its design from 2000, it represents the design from 1992. I dont know what type of standards you hold for luxury coupes, but being made in 1992, Im still loving it for its "luxury". How about finding a better more "luxurious" coupe designed for the year 1992? I would really like to know.
