Default Keep blowing fuses - DAMN!!!!

Guys,

My fuse for my tailight keeps blowing - it lasts me about 30 mins and then blows. What could be the cause?

Could I have a bad ground somewhere that is shorting it? If so, where would it be? It is killing me so any advice is most appreciated.

Please don't move this to the electronics section as I never find help there.

Peace,

Jonny

small short possible. a dead short would blow it immediately.

sounds like bulbs are incorrect wattage. there are several bulbs that come on with the parking lights, so several places to have small drains of energy, or incorrect bulbs.

try this, remove the bulbs one at a time. say, remove one, put in a new fuse. drive, blow a fuse, remove another bulb, try again.

I had the same problem when I removed my rear deck to change speakers. I had to cut some wires for whatever reason and when I put them back together with male/female connectors, I forgot to tape over them and everytime it would hit the metal chasis it would blow the fuse and I couldnt shift out of park without the gear release. I dont know if you did any work on your rear deck lately but if you did that may be the culprit. Easy fix too, wrap it with electrical tape :P

OLT,

Thx for the advice man. Yeah, I put it in and check the tailights and they are working. Couple of hours later they don't work - check fuse and it is blown.

The wiring back there is a mess, as to be expected with this car. I wish I knew what the wiring was as there are a lot of wires and I don't know which is which. I guess I can work out which wire is the ground with a light tester but after that I am screwed.

Joey,

No man, nothing changed in the car!!

Thx for the advice,

Peace,

jonny
