Question Climate control problem

While driving today my climate control shut off. I replaced the blown fuse in the kick panel, it would work again with the keys in the ignition. Once i turn on the igntion the fuse blew again.

Must be shorting somewhere. Where can the short be? i looked behind the climate control and radio and saw nothing!

Thanks!

That is very hard to say. Since the climate unit runs through the illumination, it could be anywhere in the illumination, the climate, anything. You need to remove the climate unit completely from the vehicle, then try to start the car and see if you lose a fuse. eliminate the problem one piece at a time.

check and make sure you don't have a dime or something that fell into your cig. lighter and is causing a short circuit. That will blow your climate control fuse over and over and over

I had this happen to me about a month ago. I knew the dime was in there and I just tried replacing the fuse for who knows what reason. Sure enough, it blew again. It took a pair of thin-nosed pliers and some patience to get the penny out.

For sure it's not a coin stuck in the cig. lighter. I have looked everywhere.

What else can it be?
