Default rear view mirror problems

My rear view mirror is dark on half of the glass. Is there a way to fix this or is replacing it my only option? If replacing it is the option, will a mirror out of a 90-94 ls-400 work? I would appreciate your advice.

It's the liquid crystals. They die. You have to replace or get one of those larger covers.

Dunno about the LS though. I would think it should fit. It's only a mirror after all.

My sc400's mirror attaches to the windshield. I saw a picture of a Ls 400 mirror (off the car) and it looks like it attaches to the roof. Does anyone know for sure? If this is the case, how difficult do you think it would be to swap out the mounting hardware?
