Looks like they may just be using the g-force ECUs and reselling...
$1200+ for a chip upgrade???........Jeez.
Its the only viable chip for the SC that I know of, though.

We have more choice for the 'Soarer' (SC400 and SC300).
MiNe'S 1UZ
Blitz 1UZ
SARD
Amuse
Avance 1UZ, 2JZ
KS 1UZ, 2JZ
Plus half a dozen other manufacturers for the 2.5 twin turbo Soarer.
All make replacement ECU's.
I doubt if they do any more than the 'g-force' ECU but if they are a straight swap in at least you'll have a choice!

Not good to get an off the shelf chip...
The problem with getting an off the shelf chip is that it doesnt account for all the other mods you might have done on your car. It's better to get a custom programmable chip written and installed by a pro. that way they can take into account any mods you have done and program it for max efficiency and power. a MoTec or Unichip or Wolf chip can do all the other chips and it has the advantage of scalability. If you decide to drop 1 or 2 turbo's on your V8, then these chips will be ready for it.
Anyway... the ECU should only be changed after you do all the other mods. like cold-air intake, full exhaust system and larger front mount intercooler...
I've also heard of people wanting to change their transmission ECU... (I'm thinking why?) On Soarers, the standard 4 sp auto is a learning transmission, so I dont see the reason for a change... then again, they might have removed that option on the US spec one... trippy....
Anyway's... that's my opinion on ECU
Cheers,
Toan.
