Default New SC400 Owner

Hi guys. Wanted to announce that I am a proud owner of a 1998 SC400. Been waiting for the right one to come along. Really wanted the V8 for the power and the Nak was a must. I've been looking at this model Lexus for the past 7 years ever since 1997 when I took my first test drive at the dealer & knew that "one" day I would own this car. I've never forgot about this car all these years, just the time wasn't right for me to buy.

I read all the archives to grab so much valuable info here on this model Lexus. I also ordered Zaino Products.

This Friday I washed her with Dawn, rinsed her down & filled a spray bottle with 16 oz of water to 2 capfuls of car wash liquid for lube. The clay process went easily, used lots of lube & no problem at all, the results after were totally amazing, my paint felt like a baby's butt. Then I washed her again & rinsed well. Mixed a few drops of the ZFX with the Z3 and applied one thin coat, it was quick drying too, let it stand about 30-45 min & it was ready, came off very very easy, the shine was unreal. I can also concur with others here that my black paint is Non-Clearcoat, there was little black on the polish applicator when using the Z3 which would be normal for Non-Clearcoat finishes. Then I used the Z6 and I was amazed at the shine that I received. I didn't think the paint would ever look like this, smooth to the touch & so reflective. The Zaino leather conditioner works great too & has a real true leather smell.

Here are some pics, this is with only 1 coat of the Z3 & 1 coat of the Z6. I plan to put another coat on her tomorrow. Can't imagine her getting any more reflective but I hope so. Zaino products work great & they smell cool & no messy white residue. Man, I love this car!!!

That is one beautiful and clean car. Congrats.

Have you tried using S100. You can buy it at any harleydavidson dealers. Its really easy to apply, smooth like butter with no residue.

Congratulations on the ourchase, great car. Black is my favorite color. When it's clean, there is nothing else like it. Black also is good for custom wheel choices, almost anything goes with it. Except black wheels. That's just my opinion, some guys love black on black.
Again...great car. Treat her right.

Thanks guys for all your nice comments. I plan to take great care of her.

Today I put a 2nd coat of Zaino Z3 & 2nd coat of Z6. You sure get to know your car really well by polishing her up. Seems I already know all her curves & lines. I still can't get over how reflective she looks. I feel like I have a brand new SC, even though she is 6 years old.

With the 2nd coat I can really tell a difference. Can't wait till next weekend for more coats.

You can see our Florida palm tree on the hood. Hee Hee

Congrats on the purchase! Good job on the detail. Nothing reflects like black does.

What part of Florida are you in?
