Default caliper color

I'm going to take the opportunity to repaint my calipers when the new wheels go on. They're painted silver right now. I'm thinking of color matching them with the cars' platinum. Also considering black.

What color do you guys think they should be painted?

red or nothing. the reason why most people paint their caliper is so that others or the average person would notice it and say, "hey cool you got some cool thingies inside your rims (caliper). if you paint them black....the average person does not see it. therefore red or nothing

althought black is very subtle, which ever you think is best..after all they're YOUR calipers

I say it depends greatly on the color of the car as well as the owners preference. While personally i love the look of red calipers on a black car, I cannot say that i feel the same about red calipers on a white or even red car. Also, I think that the style of the caliper plays a large role as well. The stock calipers tend to hold dirt in the bracket that holds them on such that it would show up alot on red. In this situation my vote would go for the black calipers. Im not really a fan for paint matching . I like contrasts to bring out the part. Such as the red on a black car or black on a white car. Decals can also make a world of difference too. If black is too dull for you, go wth a silver decal. Theres something about silver on black that just screams out LOOK AT ME. Considering the color of your car, my vote goes for black.

On another note, a can of spray on caliper paint can be had for $6 at autozone

I vote black...Makes your rims stand out more...

I had red calipers on my car...IMHO, its cheesy....Unless you have BIG RED Brembos, thats hot...

stock painted calipers are kinda cheesy looking and ghetto style on a luxury car. I suggest you save up for a big brake kit or supra brakes.

BUT if you really HAVE to paint your calipers, i would also sugges that you have them powder coated instead of spray painted. The spray paint will chip off easily.

colorwise? thats all on you.... but red is a personal favorite.

Despite my preference for black calipers, it seems the overwhelming majority (millions, actually) prefer gold calipers.

Man, how did that happen on the poll?

As for color, I vote black too. It calls out attention just enough. Red really depends on the car color but with your platinum, the red should be OK. BUT, with stock calipers, I am hesitant to draw that much attention by going red. With a BBK, that's a different story.

You didn't know CL was that large, did you??

Aliga, your work looks clean. Nice job. I'm thinking about finding Soarer stickers for mine. I think the red griffin on a black caliper would look smooth.
