Got my SC400!!
Came down to So Cal yesterday night and went to my friends house this mornig and did some work to get it started. Got it started and drove it to my brother in laws house and will be heading back to Sacramento on Sunday!! I got some work to do but thats half the fun right!!
Anyone have a coolant resevior tank that they wouldn't mind parting with? I will be checking the recyclers when I get home but if someone has one for a good price it would save me the time.
I was wondring if anyone knows how the group buy for the leather seat covers is going? I might be interested in a set if I still have time.

Congrats and welcome to CL. Check in the Marketplace for the coolant resevoir. There's usually someone parting out an SC in there. Sad to say but, Ebay is another source and www.taprecycling.com The leather GB will be over this coming week. It's up to 26 people and you'll end up saving about $100 + a free install kit if you get in on it.
How much work are you looking at on your new baby?

Well, where to start, the front seats are pretty worn as well as the center consule. The coolant tank is cracked, the shocks need replacement but my friend had them in the trunk and never had them installed(tociko's) so he included them in the sale. Upper strut mount will be replace at the same time as the shocks. I was thinking about new bushings for the lower control arms since the parts dept at work has them. The usual oil leaks, front and rear crank seals, oil pans. Tune up with t belt water pump drive belt and plugs. Surface the rotors and put some new pads and flush the old fluid out. Trans flush and lots and lots of oil changes!
I probably missed a few things.
Question for the Cali owners. The car is a federal car. How much extra will it be to get it registered in cali?

It would seem like you got a good deal with the work that needs to be done and all. Nothing like doing it yourself and learning about your car in the process. Did you pick up a factory service manual?
