Default Front LCA Shock Mount

Does anyone have any experience with opening up the lower bracket that's bolted to the LCA?

I got the old coilover out and when I went to install the new one, I believe an old owner over-torqued the bolt and narrowed the bracket so the new coilover won't go it.

Is there any way that I can open it back up to install the new coilover?

Find a bolt or a threaded stud, all thread piece etc and put the bolt head and nut inside and screw it out to bend the flanges out to the right dimension. May need lube.

That sounds a lot easier of some of the things I was thinking of trying. I'll run to home depot in the morning and see if it works then. Thank you for the help.
