So i bought my 2nd sc300 a 1999 black on black about a month ago, drives nice and smooth i can’t tell anything wrong with it, and about a week ago my check engine light came on while driving so i took it to oreilys to get it scanned and it read p0710 which i looked up to be a circuit malfunction on the atf temperature sensor. So i do my research for this past week and i can’t find anything on our car for this code or part, ive searched through diagrams and repair manual for my car specifically, and searched on many threads and i cant find anything on it for sc’s. Even oreilys paper they gave me said no solution and no part recommended. The car still feels like it drives the same and nothing changed when the cel came on but i did stop driving it because apparently you aren’t supposed to drive on this code with any car in general. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Just a thought, you may want someone else scan the car w/ a real diagnostic scan tool. Generic scanners sometimes give erroneous / not applicable codes for certain vehicles. I'm not @ work so I can not confirm if a P0710 code applies to your vehicle. I can't find a A/T temp sensor part for sale. If it does exist typically it is screwed into one of the transmission cooler lines. So maybe worth a quick check. If it does exist pull the part number off of it.
