So I was just informed this thread exsisted and I am amazed at some of your guys gauge locations; very creative. I just recently got all my gauges (Wide Band, Boost, EGT, Trans Temp) and cant wait to install them but the kicker is I want them on the dash.

Anyone have some pointers on running the wires? or how to drill through leather? or any other ideas for that matter.

As I have a near flawless interior you can see why I am hesitant to cut up my dash for some stupid wires.. Some are going to argue then just go with pillar pods. or mount near radio.. but honestly IMO it looks better to me on the dash.. and I hate pillar pods and I would like to get a DVD Double din soon.

So with that out there.. any ideas about the drilling and wires routing?

I wouldn't cut the dash, I would remove/cut one of the air vents on the top of the dash near the windshield and find a way to run the wires up through there somehow from underneath. pulling the glove box may help give access to that stuff.

Does anyone have experience with this Defi single-DIN gauge cluster? They are pricey and only reads in Metric (which is fine for boost) but it's a very convenient and clean setup. Available in LHD and RHD versions (gauges angled slightly to the driver), and a variety of lighting and gauge face colors.

It has one for boost and two for temperature. I'm not sure if it can be used for EGT or oil temp. Not sure about high altitude accuracy either.

I think this would be great with a simple aftermarket stereo head unit.
