Had my rx in for the 15k. They took care of a few of my on going complaints but what I wasn't expecting to be fixed yet was the annoying clapping noise when the parking brake is released. The parking brake pedal is a lot stiffer now but the noise is completely gone. I wonder if there was a tsb released for it.

 

Wow!! I have wanted my annoying clapping parking brake fixed for over a year now. I have always been assured by Lexus that there is nothing wrong with it and there was no safety concern. Not only does it clap but it doesn't always "catch". Sometimes I need to set it a couple of times to ensure that it "catches". Any idea what your dealer did to fix yours?

 

Well, I'll add this to my check list in the next visit.

When parking on the incline (to the front), the clapping sound is always there when the parking brake is released. I have had this since day 1. I thought it's "normal"...

Same problem here. Cannot impress people when they stare and wonder what the noise is when releasing the parking brake.

I'll definitely talk to the Service Manager next trip to Lexus.

 

In US, majority of ppl won't use the parking brake... Most of ppl don't really care about this issue.
