Ignition coil troubles, need help, 2007 Lexus RX 350
I got the P0355 error the other day on my Lexus RX 350, 2007. Meaning I have to replace the ignition coil 5.
Didn't want to pay another 300$ to get it fixed, had the same problem happen 3 months back with the 6th ignition coil.
My question:
Is this the #5 ignition coil?
Second:
Where can I find a replacement for the 5th coil? I can't seem to find a coil small enough looking or similar looking to the one in the spot in the picture. What should I do?
Thanks for viewing, and thanks for your feedback. If someone can help me out, I might make a tutorial video how to replace any of the coils 1,3,5.

first things first, what you have labelled is not the coil, its the injector,
the coil is about 3 inches lower on the pic, (one 10mm bolt holding circular thing on)
and i am pretty sure the even are on the front, odd on the rear.
so to sum up, you have the number 6 injector labelled (i think)
you will have to remove the plenum to access the rear, quite a bit more work, but nothing a DIY cant handle

ahh.. Many thanks. I figured it would be a lot more work than that. I didn't realize the other coils are on the other side under the manifold =/ Alright. Well it'll be a work in progress. I'll probably post some pics later. Or maybe just take it to the dealership and let them deal with it =/

i would get a quote from the dealer for sure, but i dont think its all that difficult. if you can find a manual, that would be best, dont forget that the highlander has the same engine, and therefore the manual for it would be very close.
and i am pretty sure that any gaskets you come accross are reusable.
another tip, your digital camera is your friend, take your time taking everything apart, document as needed, and you should be fine.
with dealer labour rates rising all the time, not even an oil change is affordable anymore. they'll prob charge you around 1-2 hours labour, @ 100$ - 150$ per hour.

Let me add some feedback since I recently also got p0355. 2 links that helped me:

First off, for coils 1 and 3 (rear bank while standing in front of vehicle) you'll probably have to remove intake plenum. For P0355 which is coil 5, didnt have to remove intake but it did help to remove the wiper arms and wiper bucket. I also unsecured engine harness in 2 places to get access to the coil connector. As stated in one of the links above, you'll need a pair of pliers to depress the coil connector which is a pain. Dealer stated they wanted $400 for one coil but might recommeded replacing all 6.

The rear coils are a nightmare. The problem is one 13mm bolt located along the lower back of the intake manifold on the left. The first attempt at changing it I have up after 3 hours and resembled everything. But I did not give up and found this post. It is for the spark plugs, but obviously you can use it also for the coils.

I hope this helps anyone trying to do this on their own.
