Auto-Hold doesn't completely hold...
Does anyone else notice that when you're stopped using the auto-hold feature, in a few of the times the car actually slips forward ever so slightly a few times during the hold? It doesn't happen every time but happens enough times that I asked the dealership about it and they are seeing if there is a known issue. You can actually hear the brakes slip on the rotor and feel the car move...

Based on this video demonstration, the vehicle should not move. Looks like a dandy feature when stopping on a hill.

The demo above shows on a level lot with the button on only. What if the button is off? What if you're on a hill? A hill is when you might want the feature the most. -- |
Have that feature on both our 2017 and 2019 and it NEVER slips. Something wrong in your case.

When I had my NX, I had the same issue. Never bothered taking it in. My work-around was to firmly press brake at stop if using auto-hold. Rarely used the feature so I never took time to do anything about it.

If this is an endemic issue on the car, and NHTSA gets wind of it, there will be a recall.

Auto Brake Hold is nice for uphill, downhill and Railroad Crossings when you are going to be stopped
for a couple of minutes. Not a substitute for putting it in Park, you can tap the throttle to ease ahead as traffic moves. Driver must have seat belt on, if released the Parking Brake engages. Must have your foot on the brake to both engage Brake Hold and also to disengage BH. I have never had it slip but you must press the brake pedal firmly, watch for the second dash light, yellow after the first green light to confirm the system has been set. I drive an ESh and do not tend to press the brake pedal very hard ever and must watch for this. |
