Hello, is there anyway to have android auto google maps provide directions on the HUD? Our BMW does this but not the Lexus. Also, does the HUD not display the last few phone calls to make calls? Whenever we choose to call from the steering wheel the 14" screen displays the call log and have to touch the screen to make calls. Is it possible to do this with hands on the steering wheel via HUD? Any input would be great!

 

With Lexus, you can have it in maybe another 5 years. Right now they are behind what they themselves did in their last generation system 6 years ago.

 

So 6 years ago is when they did an update last? Lexus is that behind on tech software? Urgh

 

~6 years was the last update on the previous system to add AA and CarPlay. That system did things like letting you save points in nav, split screen, etc.

 

This sounds disappointing and frustrating. Can't have it all and hope 6 years has been long enough. There's no way to research any updates coming soon, right? My search skills haven't led me to anything progressive on this topic.

 

Apple Carplay does project on HUD, but not Android Auto. If BMW has it now then maybe in 5 years foe Lexus, on another model since they don't really update the system on these cars.

No way to project call info HUD, that I know. I use Siri or Google Voice recognition to do this.
