Default Added subs to my RX

I recently upgraded the subwoofer in the RX. The factory sound system is very underwhelming. I built a custom enclosure and added a 10” kicker subwoofer. Sounds so much better.

Are you running an amp or using the factory one?

Im running a separate Kicker amp. I get signal from the factory subwoofer that way I can control bass using the factory equalizer.

I wonder if we can replace the sub speaker inside the same enclosure? Would there be improvement with factory Amp?

I doubt you could use the factory enclosure. It’s a radiator style sub from factory. And the amp would be too underpowered to push an aftermarket sub. I thought about building a box to replace the one in the factory location.

It’s under the spare tire equipment tray. There was some unused space under it.

what does this do to warranty? Have a spare sub but very wary of fiddling with wiring on a brand new car. Thinking of selling the sub.

My 2025 hybrid has its 12v battery in that location. I got all excited until I popped the trunk. Bummer

Shouldn’t have any issue with your warranty. I just tapped into the factory subwoofer wires for signal.
