Driver profile help and setting PRIMARY
So we have a new 26 RX350. I need some help.
Trying to set up 1. Driver Profile, 2. Memory seat selections and 3. Phone set up.
This is what is happening.
Here are my problems
If not I will hit the dealer this week.
Trying to set up 1. Driver Profile, 2. Memory seat selections and 3. Phone set up.
This is what is happening.
- We have each downloaded the app, opened separate accounts (I have a Tacoma so had an account already)
- I have set up BOTH profiles in the RX in the infotainment. My wife is and it says she is the PRIMARY driver.
- When setting up those profiles it asks if you would like to connect your BT phone. We did that.
- We then set her seat settings and hit set + 1. It beeped.
- I then set my seat settings and hit set + 2 and it beeped. I ALSO used the spare key to do all my stuff and hit 2 + the lock button to set that key to driver 2 (Me)
Here are my problems
- When you go into PROFILES - it has us both listed and says my wife is the primary. PERFECT
- However when you go into the BT settings part where it shows the 2 different phones it says MINE is the Primary. So when we both get in the car it is my phone synced, my phone carplay and my phone messages that come across the screen NOT HERS.
- Also it goes to my seat settings. When she touches the 1 it does nothing almost like it completely forgot her settings.
If not I will hit the dealer this week.

Seat memory is tied to the key fob used to unlock the vehicle. This video describes the process:
Notice he says make sure there is only one key fob in the vehicle

When I go to hold the #2 and hit the lock button I do not get a beep like in the video. It basically just remembers the last person to get in. I can set up everything for my profile, my phone and my key. Then when I leave that all in the house and use her key, her phone and get in the car it just stays with my settings and does nothing for her settings even though I have set them both up.
It also does not change profile automatically based on key and phone I take in the car. The "driver profile" has to be manually switch using the 6 digit pin every time a different person gets in.
I will just head to the dealer and get help Tuesday. Frustrating.

Just set MEM positions and fuggetabout the profile nonsense. Driver 1 tap 1 when you enter, driver 2 tap 2 so on. There are long threads regarding futile attempts to set multiple profiles. And I do not believe the MEM selection is married to a specific fob as it was in the prior gen.

Yeah our mem settings aren’t working. My wife gets in, sets her seats, touches set and 1 and it beeps. Then I get in and set mine to 2 the same way. Then later when she gets in and touches 1 it just stays at my setting.

Well I might have found the fix for the seat memory. When adjusting our seats it would beep. That means the seats are not calibrated (who knew) and the set function will not work. I watched this video. Did what they said and now when adjusting the seats they do not beep. I did go in and set my settings and her settings and now that part seems to work. We shall see.
There's a way to initialize the memory positions - search may be your friend. I'd point you to it if I knew.
Well I went to the dealer and as expected not much help.
HOWEVER at least for 2026 you cannot program a key to a user by holding the driver number and the lock button until it beeps like in several videos.
He said everything else was set up properly but for some reason when we switch between drivers it is a PITA and does not happen automatically. Not a big deal as the wife will be driving it 95% of the time.

I have the same issues with my '24 RX350h P+. It seems like someone at Lexus went out of their way to dream up this convoluted, confusing system that has never worked properly with multiple drivers. Keep it Simple, Lexus!
I suppose the engineer felt it would be difficult to press 1 or 2 upon entering the vehicle. Or why didn't they just keep the prior gen model of having the fob select it automatically.
My wife is the main driver but when I get in with my fob, it recognizes me by name and moves the seat to my settings.
you sure it doesn’t recognize you via your phone? Not that a dealer is ever right but they said no difference in the two keys. I guess you could try it. Give your wife your key and see what the seat does.
