Way back when I was first married and had, at that time, two kids, I needed a reliable car. I had no money to spend. So I bought a Renult Alliance....first year of production ...1983...IIRC. My BIL (Mechanic) scoffed at me and said I'd do nothing but pour money into it. Well, I drove it for just over 100,000 miles and never had an issue.

It's not right or fair when, depending on dealer, we all pay a similar price for a given set of options. At least the window stickers are the same.
One person gets a vehicle with a seat that makes noises. One person gets a dash that scuffs easily, one person gets door panels that rattle, with the Mark Levinson Sound System. One person gets a dash that rattles. Others get a vehicle with the same options and no flaws.
How could a manufacturer do nothing to make it right, for the unlucky ones that got the vehicles with the quality defects? Especially a luxury brand like Lexus? States a lot about quality control.
I was a chemist for an electroplating facility. We did many things for the department of defense and aerospace industry. If our products went out the door with quality defects, it could mean a soldier's life in battle. Just sayin'.
Must not be made in Japan. I always look for a J car. never a problem. Over on the IS board pretty much all of us with 500's don't have these issues. After looking at dozens of Utube videos, the general consensus is the ONLY three Lexus cars to buy nowadays are IS, LC or NX hybrid all still made in Japan. I am looking for another SUV and will never buy anything made here or in Canada. I feel for you guys.
OTOH.....My 2017 Ford F-150 was built in Dearborn MI. To date, it's just runs and runs. I know some have had issues with the 5.0 engine, but mine just keeps humming along.
But if the company let it go out the door, they should back it up post dealer sale and make it right.

The RX450h+ is still made in Japan I believe. That would sway me over the NA made RX500h. Of course the GX550 is also made in Japan, but the V6TT still has some proving to do. I was at the dealer the other day checking out the cars on the lot while my IS500 oil was being changed. The RX450h+ has an interior that feels $10,000 more than our TX500h. It even has memory seat feature for the passenger. Criminal that our $80,000 TX500h Luxury doesn't have this feature. Dashboard also had real wood in it too!.
Hi there - I purchased a new RX premium plus 4 weeks ago and shortly after getting it I dusted / wiped the dashboard in order to remove a white spot on the dash that was there when purchased it. The spot came out but I later realized that the microfiber scratched the ridiculously fragile material. I did not use excessive force and used a soft, clean microfiber. The scuff is only visible under certain lighting and the texture has not really changed in the vinyl, it almost looks like the friction rubbed some kind of coating off or dried the material. Has anybody else dealt with scuffs / scratches on the dashboard and have you found any solution? Guessing the scuffs are there to stay and if I am lucky I will find something to disguise them. My daughter put another small one on the glovebox area by crossing her legs. This material is ridiculous and I am afraid of what the car will look like with more time/use. I am incredibly careful with all my belongings and keep everything pristine and this car got marked in the first week
Never cleaning it. For the scratches, you could use vinyl protectant and apply then wipe with a soft microfiber.
