This just in Toyota adding Apple CarPlay escape, docked menu bank as OTA infotainment update - Autoblog, This has been an annoyance for us. I cannot find any information on when this will be happening.

I had two 2024 RX loaners over the last week and neither had this update. I didn't check what their build date was.

I find it odd that Lexus is delivering vehicles with a different build than what is available OTA. I also find it odd that a new version even exists in the wild so soon after the last (ONLY) OTA. I wonder how long people will wait for this? I'm not too eager for it, if this is the only change... I don't have a problem with the current function and I certainly don't want to lose any screen real estate. I already wish we could make the CarPlay window taller and hide the top row of HVAC controls -- similar to how the native map is able to do. I hope Lexus implements that.

Does your screen when Apple CarPlay is displayed also show the cars (Lexus) menus on the left, next to CarPlay menus?

The top left double-arrow icon let's you chose to display or hide the left column of icons. The bottom row of HVAC icons are always visible.
