I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is battery related or not. RX450h+, 1200 miles. Tire pressure malfunction light came on close to home. EV battery "depleted", running in hybrid mode. Got home and checked tires. All were good. Started car (ready mode) and tire lights still on. Thus time engine light is as well. Press start button to turn off car and nothing. Press again and nothing. Sat there for a few seconds and it finally shut off. Acting very weird. These are the first issues of any kind. Did anyone else's plug in hybrid do similar with a low battery?
Bought the DPPower portable jumper on Amazon and used once on wife's 2022 NX 350h. Just texted my Lexus shop foreman and asked are these bolts fine to attach the negative and he said yes and confirmed don't use any near the ECU or hybrid systems.

The ones on RX are right next to ECU. I would really be worried about using those.
The Costco Interstate battery listed above is a 60 A-H battery so no real improvement. The CCA rating is irrelevant in this application. The Energizer is listed as 100RC, so no improvement there either.
AGM will accept more current during charging, but is less tolerant of being undercharged than Flooded Lead Acid so it's a bit of a mixed bag. There is the potential to mask the issue by charging faster, assuming the charging algorithm will supply the extra current, while possibly having a shorter lifespan.
So Fred , are the blue circled bolts AOK for the Negative connection (per Lexus) , we once had a volumous poster who said that "a ground is a ground" and was not knowledgeable enough to know that not all connection points are created equal..... and , that poster has been put on sabbatical... (the forum is a kinder gentler place thanks to that sabbatical )

If nothing else these replacements have a better warranty than the Lexus OEM.

I sent the two pics one for the NX and RX to the shop foreman of my local Lexus dealership who I know asking are these locations okay for the negative post and he said they were fine.

There is a possibility of corroded connections between the battery NEG and a body, especially after a car gets older.
That is why Good Practice is, to connect your negative jumper to the engine block. (non-hybrid)
My plan (if it happens) is to connect our jumper box to Lexus' recommended points (yes, our leads are long enough), then release the electric lock on the tailgate, so that the 12V battery can be accessed. THEN use the 12V battery terminals directly, to start the car.
Wife has been so-instructed! (But, I know she will just call me if it happens, LOL)

Have not encountered that particular issue, but a dead battery will absolutely throw the type of odd behavior you experienced. Definitely take it back to Lexus as everything is still under warranty.
Haven’t bought the RX350h yet. Still in study mode.
I have a high end booster box that works great on my truck, tractors, etc. I’m sure it would work fine on the Lexus. Bride is currently driving a RAV4h. I’m sure it would also work for that. However… the NEG cable is not nearly long enough to reach the preferred ground. Is there nowhere near the battery on the RX that is safe for grounding?
I suppose I could use the cable of a regular jumper cable as an extension but wonder if the booster box has the power to handle that length. (Or maybe it wouldn’t matter with a ground?)
@Kensterfly , see post #56 in this forum thread, the link is below.
It will be much safer to use the engine block lug that is over the passenger side way. The small add to the length is essentially invisible to the jump pack.
In the hybrid case one needs to supply little current (amps), mainly adequate voltage is what’s necessary for the systems to boot up in these dead battery scenarios.
Hello. I just bought an RX450h+ a couple days ago and just now seeing this thread. Last night my indoor garage camera keep on notifying about movement in my garage, but nothing was there. I made a recording of what’s triggering the motion. Apparently, the infrared camera on the RX450h+ keep on turning on for 1 minute, then cuts off for 5 seconds, and then turning back in again. It seems to repeat cycle over and over again. Could this be the cause if battery drain? I have not had any issue yet since the car is pretty new.
