Should I get mudguards?
I bought the mudguards for our RX450h+, but after reading the installation instructions, I chose to have Lexus install them for me. I didn't feel comfortable drilling into a brand new car LOL Labor rate at my local dealer was stupid, but it's done and over with now.
I bought a 2024 450 H+. It did not come with mudguards, but I ordered the Lexus one through the dealer. The Lexus dealer refused to install them because they are not allowed to drill the holes required to install them. They stated that the car would have needed to been ordered with them preinstalled/predrilled. They recommended finding a body shop to install them. Wondering if anyone else faced this same issue. Thanks!
Exactly. My roof rails, mud guards and all weather mats were port installed although due to a glitch, which I don’t understand, never showed up on the sticker. So I got all three at no charge. (-: I only wanted the tow hitch which was on the sticker.
Charles267, This is totally false. I ordered my vehicle from an allocation and it had "port installed" mud guards on the sticker. The dealer had an identical car in stock that it's potential owner backed out of. They called me and asked if I wanted this car with out the mud guards. I told them I would take this car but only if they installed the mud guards at their expense. I agreed to pay the $165.00 for the part and they installed them free of charge. The fact that they don't have any technicians or knowledgeable service people at this dealership would have me wondering if they are competent to service my car.
Did someone install the mudguards using the manual from this thread? The manual talks about dimples on the rear bumper cover to drill the pilot holes. My 2024 RX350h does not have any dimples. The part where the screws should go in is smooth. The front bumper cover has marks that look like places to put the spring clips.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Has anyone tried to install these mudguards themselves? It looks like you take out the screws and insert the mudguards and line the holes up and put the same screws back on.
Could someone confirm this?

I didn't have to remove the rear wheels to drill the holes. You can pull the lip out a bit if necessary for drill bit placement, Helps to have a 90 degree screw driver or really short stubby. Interesting they want holes drilled in back and not in front. Install was pretty easy.
