I’ve registered my 2019 RX350L with NHTSA on another issue, and they keep me updated on the fuel pump recall too. I have not seen any major accident or fatalities reported. Check here: https://www.nhtsa.gov

Just learned that a friend of mine who has a lexus IS has just got the new fuel pump installed. Apparently they now have a fix, or is it that the RX has a different fuel pump. Anyone know of any fuel pumps being installed?

Default Replacement Fuel Pumps

Friend just received a replacement fuel pump for his IS earlier this week. Does anyone know if the part is available for the RX?

Anyone who has received repair or an estimated repair date for RX350? Which would usually get the repair first between older year models and recent year models?

Spoke to my dealer yesterday and was told that I could probably get my RX "fixed" in about a month. They will call. They said it will take about 2 hrs to replace if small amount of fuel in gas tank. If over half full, it would take about 4 hrs to replace.

The amount of fuel in the tank shouldn't affect the replacement time, since the pump and sending unit are removed from the top of the tank. I could understand if the tank had to be dropped out of the vehicle.

Maybe they found that by removing the tank it's faster than removing the back seat.

Default 2019 RX 350 Recall

Forgive me if there's already a thread for this, I looked and didn't find one.

Back in February I received a notice that there was a recall on my 2019 RX 350 due to a fuel pump problem that would cause the vehicle to stall primarily at highway speeds and wouldn't allow the vehicle to be started potentially leading to a collision. As of today no replacement fuel pumps have become available and I'm not really driving the vehicle.

I'd be very interested in hearing what your Lexus Dealers have done for you, if anything, since this recall.

Sorry that it took me until today to find this thread.

I bought my 2019 RX 350 on 11/1/19. When I got the notice for the recall in February 2020 The car had about 4000 miles on it. I spoke to Lexus Customer Service and my dealer. I was told back then that they would rent me a car from Enterprise if I was nervous about driving this one. I didn't want to do that. So the car as of today has 5200 miles on it and mostly sits in the driveway not being driven other than once a week or so driving around the block. It would seem to me that Lexus corporate should be willing to do something for us. The person I spoke with and my dealer both said that they hadn't heard of any incidents or accidents and that they wouldn't be afraid to drive the car. Still, there should be something that they offer when the car is sitting undriven and lease or purchase payments are being made while the car just sits.

Has anyone asked for something?

Who would have paid for the rental, them or you?

My ES is involved in the same recall. Dealer still says no ETA on the part. I've driven it over 20K miles at this point with no issues.

Since we are still driving ours I don’t feel the need to go begging for something! This really is no big deal. Took two years to get our airbag replaced on our ES when that happened. We didn’t quit driving that one either. Just because there has been a recall issued doesn’t mean people need to panic.
