Anyone know how to remove the carpet/cloth covering the back of the seats?
This might be a bit hard to describe but I'll try my best.
I'm trying to install custom seat covers (not my idea) but I'm having some difficulty because it requires me to stuff the excess fabric into the gap between the backrest and the seat. The instructions simply say to pull it from behind but it appears as if I can't do that because there's this carpet like material that covers the gap from behind. I've tried tugging on it gently but couldn't find a way to remove it.
Does anyone know how to remove that carpet like cloth that covers the gap? I tried googling but no luck, maybe because I don't know the right word for it.
Thanks.

FYI Owner's Manual discourages placing anything such as seat covers , ref. pg 41 of Owner's Manual:

Your seats also have airbags in them. If you completely cover them and that airbag has to deploy you may run into some serious issues. I would consult with your dealership and/or confirm in the owners manual before doing anything that could inhibit the normal function of any safety system. It won't matter how good those seats look if you're not around to see them. I'm not trying to be dramatic, just want you to be safe.

I had this same debate with my friend, he had cheesy seat covers on his car becauce he wanted to keep the seats clean. My argument which convinced him was A if they get dirty pay $200 to get an interior conditioning and they’ll look like new. B it’s not going to get you anymore money on trade in becauce the dealer will just pay the $200 to get it cleaned professionally or painted if there really that bad. C your not enjoying the only part of your car besides the steering wheel that your in contact 100pct of the time that your in the car.

While this video is not specific to our exact model year, it does give you an idea of how the seat airbags deploy. I'm not advocating arguing with your wife (I'm also married, happy wife happy life), I'm just giving you something you may show her to illustrate the potential danger of covering the entire seat when there is an airbag in the seat itself. To that end, there are some out there that have special cut-outs to allow the airbag to deploy so just keep that in mind when looking into those options.

There's no way I would ever put covers over the seats in a modern car. If the seats get dirty, clean them.

I got some mesh covers from carid and the heated and ventilated seats works through the mesh. The lux pack with my lexus has perforated seats and a lot of gunk gets into it making it hard to clean and vacuum. You can get in between the back of the carpet to snake the hook under the seat without removal, takes patience and time. Since it is custom made for my 2019 Rx350, it has all the openings for the air bags if need to be deployed. While traveling cross country, the covers prevented many food liquid stains.
