garage door opener range 2017 rx 350

I now have to get within 100 feet of my garage door to have it open.It used to be about 500 feet.
Does anyone have any input or answer about this problem ?

I am having the same problem with my 2017, while the 16 is still OK. I think I will reinstall the transmitter on a second button on the mirror just for a test.

I had the same problem that started 'suddenly' and with no explanation. I posted the problem on this board and the input I got was to check for sources of interference. Although I was skeptical, I did finally track the source of the interference to my new LED landscaping lights and/or transformer. I found that during the day when the lights were OFF the range was normal. At night when the lights were ON, the range was reduced to about 35'.

100 feet is not long enough? I always open the door when I am on the driveway not ahead of time for security.

I had a neon light in my garage that caused the same problem as yours. Once I removed the light the problem was solved. Just my 2 cents.

I had the same issue with a couple of my other cars 3 years ago. Called Chamberlain and was told that the main source of interference was LED lights (mine and neighbors). They told me to get the new garage door opener with latest security features or change the control module on the existing one (I had the previous version). Went to the store and got a new garage door opener with the latest security. Once installed, all the issues went away. Still using that garage door opener while all lights in and around the house are LEDs without any issues.

There are other benefits for getting a new opener, like Wi-Fi support and for the 1st time I saw the up/down lights on my mirror.

Don't screw in ordinary LED bulbs in GDO unit. Use ones specially made for GDO use from Lift Master or Genie. I can monitor my garage door status whether it is open or
closed any where in the world thru Internet. Of course I can open/close it too remotely.

90% of my house use LED light bulbs including the garage and the Lift Master's opener's remote light housing. But I do have the same problem with the old garage opener(more than 10 years old). The new one has no problem, I also got the antenna extender for the opener and I can open it like before reaching my neighbor's house.
