Quick update:
after contacting few sales specialists and getting no where with then.... one of them advised me to get another screen and try the unit with it to fix the resolution... that wasn’t by any means possible to me...
Then I had been contacted by someone called David, and I think he is the sales manager...
He gave me an update file and instructions to put it in a USB and hook it to the USB1 port to update the unit...
long story short:
Here we go...
Thank you guys for all your help..

fyi, you can update the Carplay software and the firmware for the dongle OTA. Open the carplay app, but don’t plug your phone in. On the top left corner, you will see there is a Setting icon. Click it and scroll all the way down and click check update, then just follow the instruction. Note: connect the box to wifi first.
Best thing in the most recent update:
Automatic dark mode for Apple maps (switch to dark mode when sunset)
Change the Car icon to Lexus logo (the icon at the bottom left in your picture, make it looks more OEM)

nicee!! I’m glad the whole team reached out to you to fix this issue. I think you’re the first one who has this issue, so the whole team worked on it.

I have only one issue I noticed yesterday: When I use navigation apps (happened with both google maps and waze) I noticed sometime the screen just freezes... which is quite annoying when you are on a long road you don’t actually realize it... to solve it I had to unplug the iPhone and replug again...
maybe I need to update the system as you mentioned...
one last thing (a really great point) now when you enter the android system through media/AUX pathway on Lexus interface, all sounds go through the car speakers and your calls go through the car mic exactly as you woukd if you were connecting through Bluetooth.... no need to connect the system through bluetooth to get those features.... and the sound is amazing!!!!

i had the same frozen issue before as well, but it has been fixed in the latest firmware/software. Never seen it frozen again since I updated.

Really guys this android unit opebed up the true potential of the 12.3 inch display in the RX
shame on Lexus for not including the carplay feature in their most sold car yet ES, NX I’m sure they have the carplay for 2019 model...
if it was a company policy I’d respect that... but this is just not right...(my opinion though).

the screen is the least of your concerns... plastic in front/ back cover easy to remove/ put back... the 10 mm screws are easy to remove and re- screw. The ones that holding the headunit from both sides are the real deal... make sure you don’t lose them when you unscrew/ rescrew... move your hands slowly and steadily...
when removing the headunit make sure to put a big towel below it to avoid any scratching of it or the interior... also put a towel to rest the screen on before handling the cables behind it....
good luck to you...

I know I sound stupid here but I just don’t know the steps in removing the screen. Why can’t this company just make a stinkin video for you to follow when installing the whole thing and operation as well. Annoying.
