Will it be too ridiculous if I negotiate for spending $49000 (including tax, fees, everything) all in cash as a final deal?
is the 51.7 before tax? I don’t know your tax rate so it’s hard to comment. Knowing what I got on my 2019 f sport nothing is ridiculous. I almost didn’t ask for it because I didn’t think it was possible.

I would like to thank you as I learnt a lot from your posts. Just after getting the 2019 at the end of the November I read your posts about 2019s lease so we’ll as residual is high. It would’ve been a better option for us to do that and buy it at the end of the lease.

I also went went through a thread on leasehackr on investing and saving for the future following your posts.

Default RX450h deals

Hi all,

My wife really likes the 450h. The issue is that she is upside down on her 2017 QX70. She will be commuting to San Francisco for work and needs better fuel economy.
Her QX70 gets 16-17MPG.

The issue is that the Lexus dealer offered us 24k for the Infiniti. We owe 34k, and the sticker was 52k.
A while ago I was able to trade my sports coupe to Porsche for a Macan GTS, they gave me a heck of a deal.Even gave me top dollar on my coupe beating out other dealers.

Does Lexus not haggle or even deal? I also have a Tacoma 4x4 SR5 and Toyota worked with me in a price that worked.

Should I try another dealer...or just wait a few years and check again?

I don't know what the actual market value of the QX70 is but I'd imagine the dealership is not lowballing you by $10,000.

Let's just say $24,000 is the actual fair market value and the dealership is being honest and fair with that quote. If you owe $34,000, that's negative equity of $10,000. If you were to pretend there was no QX70 to trade in and you're looking at an RX with an MSRP of $50,000, it would be as though you were actually looking at a $60,000 car.

For you to come out even as though you had no trade-in and were just buying a car straight up, the new car would have to be discounted by $10,000. This could be attainable if there are any leftover older model year vehicles still on the lot waiting to be sold. Alternatively, a meet in the middle situation would be ideal where the price offered for your trade-in would be increased by $5,000 and the new car discounted by $5,000. Realistically, you're not likely to get that much more out of the dealer for your trade-in. If private party value is significantly higher, it may be worth your while to sell it private party, though you'd have to deal with the legal aspects on your own rather than being handled by the dealer.

If you don't want to wait a few more years, I'd search the area for either a leftover '18 (assuming the '19s are flooding dealer lots) or look for a manager special demo vehicle with a few thousand miles to help negate as much of the $10k as you can.

Any Lexus dealership that is labeled as a Lexus Plus dealership uses a fixed-pricing no-haggle concept. All others operate normally and negotiate but of course, your experience will differ at each dealership.

Good luck! It's definitely within the realm of possibility, but may take a bit more work on your part.

How much would she save with the improved fuel economy? Sound like you're going to take a $10k loss to save $1k-$2k in gas.
