I'd fall on the floor in shock to visit the dealer who would say "I'd keep your money in your pocket and hold off buying anything I have here in the next 7 months if you're not in a rush, and then special order to get what you want, the next model likely have something better as it's due for a refresh. Will most likely get tweaks to front and rear, interior tweaks, and tech is high on likelihood list". That said, assuming the 2019 has larger changes, I'd expect little to no discounts for many months. This vehicle is enormously popular.

Definitely wait. No brainer. the tail lights on the 4RX are getting stale. i expect a more smoother flowing more elegant tail light for 2019 and revised spindle grille. maybe even the headlights!

I just purchased a 2018 RX350. I was ready to buy last fall, and initially waited for the 350L, but in Canada it's a $9k premium over the base RX and doesn't come with the premium leather seats unless you go 72K for the Executive package. That was a deal killer for me since the 10-way seats are the only option I really need. Then I waited to see if the 2017's would be offered at a significant discount, but my local dealer still has 5 or 6 and isn't offering much off, plus it's too late for reduced financing rates. It seems like they only just started to accumulate an inventory of 2018s around here.

With Lexus not releasing anything yet, is it the assumption the 2019 RX vehicle will come out in February 2019 as the 2018 did? I know they used to release them in fall, but when they did that, they ALWAYS released information by this point of the priori year, usually in April.

Basically the decision for me is wait until this time next year to get a similar deal on a 2019 that I can get now on a 2018. I guess I have to ponder if Apple carplay is worth waiting for. Question, is the touchpad a better user experience than the mouse like controller?

Is there a compelling reason to get 2019 vs 2018 RX 350 AWD
Hi
I am considering a fairly basic RX 350 AWD and 2019's are starting to hit the lot. There are also some 2018's left as well. I plan on leasing.
Exterior design has not changed.
I am thinking that Lease money factor and residuals will be different for 2019 vs 2018 and and the current 2018 lease may be better than upcoming December to Remember for 2019's but I have no idea of knowing if this will be true.
Could the 2019 have some mechanical "tweeks" (engine, suspension, etc.) that Lexus did without any fanfare?
Basically I am trying to determine if I should go with 2018 or th 2019 model.
Thanks in advance, John

The fashion is to look how to drop the production cost. RX 2018 is just close to perfect car, and do not see what they could imrove. There was enough time for 2018 to figure out all problems and to fix them.

1. More robust AWD with LSD
2. Power and weight improvements - Lexus seriously lagging behind in this space
3. Air suspension
4. Apple CarPlay
5. Add RWD bias
6. Higher level self-driving capabilities
7. OLED screens and virtual cockpit
8. Leg extenders on seat
9. Google Maps support
The possibilities are endless. Test drive a competitor and I'm sure you can think of more ways to build the perfect car.

They need to open it up to non-Luxury package buyers, including 4-way lumbar. Other seat adjustments even the luxury package lacks is bolster height adjustment, both for legs and waist. How about air conditioned seats while we're at it. So many things can still be improved.

A lot of people could disagree with you, especially when it comes to the whole noise/vibration transmission issue. Some other items I can think of are:
1. More robust AWD with LSD
2. Power and weight improvements - Lexus seriously lagging behind in this space
3. Air suspension
4. Apple CarPlay
5. Add RWD bias
6. Higher level self-driving capabilities
7. OLED screens and virtual cockpit
