We also received clarification that the estimate does include paint repair to the roof. They have the glass already but have to wait on paperwork to come through. We are 1-2 weeks out from getting the vehicle back. They said we may need to swap out the loaner in the meantime, but that's fine. This is great news!
This is great news.

my experiences have always been with American Car companies.. It is great to see that the higher tier companies actually have some sense and seem to care about their customers, based on my experience if this is was a Ford or GM, this would not have been the outcome.

Sorry, but they still deserve trashing for what they put this customer through. The lawyers probably decided the customer wasn't going to give up.

No other mfr would be different. they never cave in initially even when it's obvious warranty work.

I don't get what you don't get. I'm merely saying they're all the same. They all try to avoid warranty claims so in my mind, that's not something to criticize.

So a company that sells you a product and tells you it has a warranty, then refuses to honor that warranty shouldn't be criticized?

I have encountered it and I dealt with it by not rolling over and whimpering "they all do it".
The OP on this thread stuck with it and will get it covered. So, they don't all do it.

Default 2017 RX 350 F Sport Panoramic Sunroof

Has anyone had the pleasure of having to replace a shattered Panoramic Sunroof? The dealership here is quoting over $6000 to replace it. The dealership is swearing by road debris which I have no record of having. I know when driving it and if something causes it to shatter it sounds like a gun shot, but that never happened as it shattered parked in the driveway.

The back glass of the sunroof sunk in, and shattered. The leading edge and back edge had a huge crack line as if something compressed the glass down. I live in the south and its been super hot the last few months and I suspect there is a defect in the glass and these are starting to shatter due to excessive heat buildup that gets trapped between the headliner and glass.

Please use the search button, a member reported a similar ordeal a few months ago. I guess that's one option I will avoid when I buy later this year.

I have read a few member sun roof (panoramic, not the small front sunroof) broke just by sitting under the sun.
Funny thing you bring it up today. I was at the dealership this morning getting oil change for my RX 350.
A rx350 was towed into this dealership. The rx driver was with the tow truck driver. I was shock to see the pano roof was totally shattered. I walk over and ask the owner what happened. He said the same thing as you. Car was sitting at work parking lot and it just broke by itself.
I am from Tampa, and the last few days has been very hot, over 100 in day time. And I really think the heat is the cause of all these broken pano roof.
