Default 2019 RX Release Date

Hoping that the 2019 RX grille refresh uses the coming 2019 ES grille as a point of departure. Also hoping that US buyers get the European & Japanese sequential turn signals, using Audi's method of meeting US regulations. Finally, it would be nice to again offer the Truffle Mica color, last available in the US for the 2010 RX. The foregoing would ensure that this Lexus guy would buy a new loaded 2019 RX450h to replace his fab 2010 RX450h Truffle Mica Gen-3 gem for which an offer that couldn't be refused was received in March, 2017.

Default 2019 vs 2018 Lexus RX350

Planning to replace my 2013 RX350 later this year. Will be considering either a 2018 or 2019. Since 2019 will be the 4th year of the current generation, does anyone have any idea of potential improvements to this year.

Well guys, I have a 2000 RX350 and can't wait for the 2019 to come out. Hoping that they come out in Sept!

Default Just a Tad More RX Power Would Be Welcome

Agree with an earlier post about wanting a little RX more power.
No, the RX does not need to be a hot rod; but with its V-6 & electric motors, the RXh, at least, should be able to accelerate as quickly as a Porsche Macan, which I've considered to replace my 2010 GEN-3 RX450h. The Macan gets good ratings from Consumer Reports, but not significantly different from the RX -- and it's more expensive. The RX still has the formula correct as to what sells; and when the refreshed 2019 models finally arrive in the DEC, 2018 to FEB, 2019 time-frame, it will be a pleasure to order a new RX Hybrid. It would also be nice to have the Truffle Mica or Fire Agate color option offered again. Their "50 shades of gray" are fine, and Autumn Shimmer is passable (but quite rare), but a return to the Truffle and/or Fire Agate would be welcomed as much as having just a few more horsepower. A little more weight-management, plus a slight tweaking of battery capacity and the rear electric motor's power might do it -- while keeping the same good MPG, of course.

On the left is the current 2013 Fire Agate GS450h, and on the right is the sorely missed 2010 Truffle Mica RX450h.

Any current intel on when we'll see the 2019's, hopefully soon. My wife wants to go car shopping and I'd like to point her in the direction of a RX 350 F Sport as I do most of the driving.

Most guesses is that 2019 will be the refresh year. Probably very minor exterior changes, Apple Carplay, and next gen safety features.

The Apple site only states 2 models from Lexus to come out with CarPlay in 2019:
  • 2019 EX
  • 2019 UX

Default Ordering a 2019 RX

Can the 2019 be ordered now? If not any idea when? Do any dealers discount and if so, about how much?

Head to your dealer(s) as only they will know.

2019 RXL models can be ordered at the moment (there is no change to L models). As for the regular length RX models, they currently cannot be ordered. When you hear about the new 2019 RX and what it will look like is most likely the same time when dealers will find out and be given the ordering guide from Lexus. Dealers will be putting in orders by August, so we should know in July most likely what the 2019 RX will look like and what it will come with.

Those are the only ones announced so far. Apple will not put out any information on cars that have not been publicly announced by the car manufacturers.

I really hope so! Ha, been holding off on a 2018 that I can get for a really good price but I know that I may harbor some small regrets if right after I purchase, the 2019 info is released and the updates are items I would not mind paying more for and willing to wait until March to buy. it is the waiting that kills me :-)

Default A late summer or September, 2018 release for the 2019 GEN-4 RX Mid-Cycle Refresh?

An earlier post mentioned that many North American Lexus buyers have three-year leases. Many of these Lexus people started their leases in late summer or early fall, 2015 and with the leases soon to end, will want a new vehicle. If Lexus waits until late fall, 2018 or even to January, 2019, some impatient drivers may look at Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Infiniti, M-B or BMW. It is doubtful that Lexus will want to risk that and will likely either offer short lease extensions with conditions that favor the driver or allow ordering the 2019 RX models by August or September, 2018. By the way, we drove a new 2018 Porsche Macan this last weekend. A bit small compared to the RX, but great build-quality, and it handled much like a Cayman or even a 911. The RXh still remains the best choice for us, but Lexus needs to know that there are likely other drivers who could be lured away.

A late summer or September, 2018 release for the 2019 GEN-4 RX Mid-Cycle Refresh? That's my hope, at any rate.

We have lived without our 2010 AWD RX450h (purchased in AUG, 2009) since it was sold in March, 2017 before we were really ready because of an offer that could not be refused. We want the RXh GEN-4 mid-cycle refreshed model, and it will be totally equipped as possibly the proverbial "last car." There will be no compromises as we, along with many others, wait impatiently. The only worry is that the president's tariffs on Canadian steel & aluminum may bump the price too high to get what we want; and as far as I've read, most of the RX models for North America are now built in Cambridge, Canada, as opposed to our 2010 RXh & 2013 GSh which were both built in Japan.

Just waiting, wondering & worrying -- along with everyone else.
