Just test drove 3 different RX 350s. Have a serious question.
Hey guys, new member here looking to pull the trigger on a rx 350 fwd. I went to Jim falk lexus in Beverly Hills and test drove one. But when accelerating I would say around 1500 rpm there is a vibration that comes in thru the steering wheel. As I go to higher rpm the vibration disappears. However I noticed that the transmission program is aggressively tuned to save fuel so 1500 to 2k rpm is right where it loves to stay almost all the time in local driving.....so the vibration is always felt as long as the engine is under load. I drove 2 other rx's and both were identical. The car is amazing otherwise - it's smooth quiet when cruising, but that vibration oh man it started giving me a headache. After the test drive I got into my Acura and it felt like a rolls royce between 1.5 to 2k revs haha. Anyhoo thanks in advance and any help would be appreciated.

Hi OHaiii! I’m glad you’re checking on this forum. This is a very common problem with the RX350. Do a search for “noise and vibration problems” and you will come up with a thread that deals specifically with this problem. Some owners report having it and some don’t. Some have a little and some have a lot of vibration. Lexus claims this is normal! My advice to you is if you still want the car test drive the one you’re buying to make sure it doesn’t have this problem. Another choice would be to go with the Hybrid if the budget allows it. Good luck in your decision.

Oh my goodness! 69 pages on that single thread?! Geezus how can lexus let this be? But then again I'm sure most of the people buying the car won't even notice it. We are the small minority that are the enthusiasts who would notice and care. Thanks for your help I'm so glad I came here to ask. I knew it wasn't typical Lexus character to have that kind of a vibration.

Remeber you can always put a deposit down and get it back full refund.
Never accept and sign anything unless you are 100 percent satisfied with your car.
My car 2016 had zero vibrations and issues and I love it. But many others don't feel the same way. Don't be the others
