Am I able to upgrade my 2017 Lexus RX 350 navigation
Am I able to upgrade my 2017 Lexus RX 350 from a Scout GPS Link with MapStream to a real Navigation system. This one is absolute CRAP. I can't believe Lexus has put their name behind this useless waste of money system. How can a $50K car even come with the Scout GPS system????

I, also, think it would be impossibly expensive. That is if it could be done.
Being a long term Lexus owner the NAV system works well for me. I have no complaints

I'm sure there are computer engineers here who could crack and hack the system.
I like the system. Voice commands are flawless and I like doing the search on my phone and porting it over.

For the OP, adding a factory navigation system at this point would require replacing the head unit, the screen, and considerable other hardware/wiring. I'm confident in guessing that the cost of doing so would be so high that it would, by far, exceed the cost of trading in the car and replacing it with a navigation-equipped RX.

I believe that the OP has an RX that is not equipped with the factory navigation system and that he is using the Scout GPS app, which became available on many Lexus models starting with the 2017 model year.

Sorry, been working all day. Looks like you guys figured this out. This is my first Lexus - it's a beautiful car - so I don't understand why they would sell it with such a piece of crap navigation system - actually the system doesn't even work. My map doesn't show, my device nor my wife's device won't connect to the Scout Connected Navi --- I have 28 miles on the car ...... I guess I will have to see if I can sell it.
Thanks for the help

The navigation system for the RX is a Generation 9 navigation system, and it is a very nice improvement over previous generation Lexus navigation systems. It actually works very well with voice commands, and it performs even better for those who have taken the time to learn how to use it in conjunction with the Destination Assist app that is a part of the free Enform App Suite, which gives the navigation system access to a constantly updated data base.

No, I don't play soccer!
Let's keep the posts topic related please.
SimoFish, I'd suggest setting up time with the Lexus Technology Specialist at your dealer. He/She can go over the navigation system and answer any questions you have.

But the RX bought by the OP does not have a navigation system. What she is using and what she is not pleased with is the Scout GPS app that she is using for navigation. Not getting that point is the reason why several of the posts in the thread are irrelevant.
