I have used regular in all of my Lexus for over 10 years and never had a problem. Multiple Lexus service techs advised that they do the same and other than the loss of a few hp, it will have no harmful effect.

People here will will tell you differently and that is what is good about these forums, you can believe what ever you want.

All of the above to address the hesitation with acceleration issue. Sometimes reg works great other times premium is smoother. Problem is, it's never consistent so i default to reg now and save some pennies for a burger.

87 octane or better Top Tier gas, per the owner's manual. It doesn't use the terms "regular" or "premium", just a minimum octane rating.

2017 F-Sport AWD - I use midgrade 89 Mobil or Chevron. Owner's manual states 87 (Research Octane Number 91) or higher which is a bit confusing.

"ssmtsx" mentioned that the gas tank door states Premium. Mine doesn't say anything about Premium on the gas tank door.

Agree 100%. Used regular when premium was required for many vehicles for almost a million miles of driving. Have never had one issue and also never noticed any increase in gas mileage. The little bit of loss in performance, I could care less. It is a Lexus not a Porsche. This topic will be debated over and over with passion. Does it make you feel good as a purchaser that the car requires premium, the best gas. When later you are at the pump and the difference is $.70 a gallon do you still feel good using it again IMO with no difference. Don't believe here are so experts. If it makes you feel better spend the extra $$$.

Burning regular when the owner's manual specifies premium won't void the warranty, nor damage the engine, even the most finicky automakers say. "You're giving up perhaps just a little bit of performance that a customer wouldn't really even notice, it's so slight," says Furey.

Just use regular now. When I alternated from reg to premium, the car seemed to run more poorly. Running regular for at least 8 tanks and it's running much more consistently. No hesitation issues with regular. RX350 f sport run in normal mode.

i have two of them and they love regular. Even my LX loves regular. Of course it would not know Premium as even my dealer filled all of my vehicles with regular before delivery.

Like me I have said before, this is near a religious thing and each has to choose what you think is best.

The oil companies love the extra money. You may not be getting the octane you think as my station told me they get the regular tanks filled sometime twice a week while the premium is over a month. Fuel does lose octane over time so another reason to use regular for me, it is fresh. LOL!

Life is full of choices, pick your poison.

Re the warranty, how does Lexus know whether you are using reg or prem?? I've never been asked that question by any service dept.
