ics activated when raining

i would think it is due to the water on the sensors but living in Florida where rain is nearly everyday, I have never seen this problem. I do wax these sensors along with the bumper so maybe that helps. I would let Lexus know as maybe they have a method of recalibration that would avoid this in the future.

Thanx for the info, it's not included in my 2016 RX350.

ICS is new for 2017, triggered by either the Park Assist sensors going forward or reverse and
by the RCTA when backing. PA sensors can "false" with snow and/or debris but I have
not experienced that with just rain.

This was not the ICS system but I had a guy change lanes right in front of me and throw on his brakes so he could make a turn. The RED light in the dash indicated "STOP", the alarm went off, the gas pedal went limp under my foot, seat belts tightened and my RX applied FULL BRAKING, all before I could even take my foot off the gas. This is how the anti collision system works and it works well. It is quite abrupt but much better than rear ending someone at 40mph.

Good scenario description of the PCS Pre Collision System that uses the camera in the upper
windshield and the millimeter radar behind the front grille to apply brakes. Highway speed,
defaults on with every engine start. These sensors also provide the LKA Lane Keep Assist
that guides between curb and lane markings, shakes the wheel if you get to wandering.
This portion of the tech is quickly defeatable when maneuvering in road construction zones.
The ICS Intelligent Clearance Sonar is the parking speed system described above.

Hi everyone, I own 2016 RX450H. It has LKA, PCS, RSA, BSM and adaptive cruise control. I just came to know that the 2017 RX has an additional system of ICS, which I don’t have in my 2016 Lexus RX450h. Now, 2 questions crossed my mind :
1- Is it possible to install the ICS system in my RX ?
2- How may I know if my car could detect pedestrians/car in the front with applying auto brake, if the driver doesn’t ?

Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go? While it is always possible to install new and better
equipment in any car (Monster Miata, anyone?) it becomes a matter of economics. Might be cheaper
and more efficient to just trade up to a 2018/19 RX 450h and get the ICS and 10 years Remote Start.
