Few basic rim related NOOB questions
I'm no stranger to car forums but I am a stranger to Lexus. First time Lexus driver here.
I'm running on the worst looking oem 18'' rims there are (what the hell was Lexus thinking having those as a base option??) so I'm really wanting to replace them with most likely OEM 20s. I browsed around here for a bit, found some cool info/pics/mods as well as some things that lead me to more questions.
1. I see that rims by Vossen and Verde seem to be most popular among Lexus crowd. If so - why? Are they something to Lexus like Nismo is to Nissan?
2. What are exact specs for my 18s? Offset, width........just so I know what specs I should be looking into.
3. Is there a difference between F-Sport and other OEM 20's short of looks? Are they lighter?
4. I'm assuming that any 2016-17 RX 20'' rims will fit right on, right?
5. Are there actual names for different oem rims? I call them "18's", "F-Sport", "Flower" and "Lines with plastic fillers" LOL. I'm 100% sure that's not how they are called LOL
6. What do used but in good condition OEM 20s go for nowadays? Ballpark.
7. Car is a lease to I'll be giving it back in a few short years. How's resale value on Lexus rims?
Sorry for so many stupid questions but I assume all are easy for anyone who's been modding Lexus' for a bit or been active on Lexus forum for some time.

I have been looking at Vossen because there is a lot of info here on what others have done and if it worked. I am looking at 22"
Don't know what your specs are for the 18"
I would doubt that the 20" f sport or other factory 20" wheels are different spec wise. Both 8" and ET30( not positive on the 30)
Yes other 20" RX rims will be a straight swap. In fact some here have already done the change
If your looking for F sport wheel for 2016/17 RX350...just type that for a search and you will find some.
Looking for lightly used, good condition, 20" wheels with tires, couldn't tell you how much that would be. When I replace mine I probably would keep them. The dealer won't want aftermarket wheels and they certainly won't give you more for the car when you trade it in. Resale on wheel package....supply and demand.

wheel answers
1. I see that rims by Vossen and Verde seem to be most popular among Lexus crowd. If so - why? Vossen just collaborated with Work Wheels for a new line of wheels and they are highly interactive with their customers. They have good warranty as well.
2. What are exact specs for my 18s? Offset, width........just so I know what specs I should be looking into. 235/65/R18 ET30 and you can do between 9-10.5" width, make sure you go with offset ET30.
3. Is there a difference between F-Sport and other OEM 20's short of looks? Are they lighter? They may possibly be lighter but it's negligible to performance. Purely visual.
4. I'm assuming that any 2016-17 RX 20'' rims will fit right on, right? Correct
5. Are there actual names for different oem rims? I call them "18's", "F-Sport", "Flower" and "Lines with plastic fillers" LOL. I'm 100% sure that's not how they are called All from the dealership are considered OEM, OEM Base, OEM Premium, OEM Premium Insert, OEM F-Sport (keep track of part number)
6. What do used but in good condition OEM 20s go for nowadays? Ballpark. Around $350 per wheel (excluding TPMS sensor and stem, you'll be using your OEM TPMS anyway)
7. Car is a lease to I'll be giving it back in a few short years. How's resale value on Lexus rims? Good to Moderate resale value as long as there's no damage/scuffs
2. What are exact specs for my 18s? Offset, width........just so I know what specs I should be looking into. 235/65/R18 ET30 and you can do between 9-10.5" width, make sure you go with offset ET30.

Thanks for the great info....I know there is a 22" wheel thread, but I am having a hard time finding it....done the search etc.
Anyway I was curious what the ET was....30 thank you!
Going to try the 22x 9 or 9.5 with the 265 45 22 ET30. I think this will give me the clearance safely on all four wheels.
A 9" wheel seems a touch small for a 265 tire, although it works and will stick out past the rim for that extra protection just in case you get close to a curb....
Now the big problem, which Vossen wheel?
Anyway I was curious what the ET was....30 thank you!

I have the 18" wheels and would definitely not want the ride to be any firmer than it is. I would just replace the wheel with a nicer looking 18' wheel. I'm staying with 18's the ride compromise between handling and comfort is just right for me. Its one of the few things I think Lexus got right.

Funny I have the 20's and wish it was at least twice as firm. When you get used to extremely hard suspension with 30 and 25 profile, the big 55 seem soft and mushy. Guess we each have a different ride criteria. Good thing or we would all be driving the same thing.

I have both oem 18" (Michelin) and oem 20" (Michelin) sets for my 16' RX. The firmer ride of the 20"s is minimal and noticeably improve handling; I have the 18"s for winter use. I purchased my oem 5 spoke 20" wheels w/ tires on ebay for $2000.
