That seems to be the preferred setup.

I have my drivetrain set to power to avoid having to smash the gas pedal to pick up speed. I do have a 350 AWD which has a very lag throttle response in normal.

When you set the custom mode: Powertrain to Power and Chasis to Sport - is it the same as putting it in Sport mode minus the stiffer steering wheel?

I had read that the reason it does not stay in Sport Mode after a restart is that they would have to
run the EPA/CAFE MPG tests in Sport...and they do not want to do it that way!

I had the same thought, so I set the power/sport combo and when moving I went from D to S and you could easily tell that they are different. I thought about staying in power mode, it seemed like a midpoint between drive and sport however the transmission would abruptly search for the right gear during acceleration, much more noticeable than in the normal mode.

Not sure if this default info is in the manual or has been recapped as nicely. Please let me know if this information is not correct, as I found it on a 3rd party website.

ECO- Powertrain=ECO, Chassis=Normal, Air conditioner=ECO
S Powertrain=Power, Chassis=Normal, Air=Normal
S+ Powertgain=Power, Chassis=Sport, Air=Normal

Custom choices: Powertain normal/eco/power, Chassis normal/Sport, Air=Normal/Eco

But that's a good summary.

Hi folks. I have a 17 RX350 Fsport. Questions for the experts:
1. If I set the custom to Powertrain=power and Chassis=sport, do I still have to choose S+ on the main control everytime I drive?
2. Do you have to be on a full stop before changing the drive mode to, say from normal/custom to S+, or can you change it even while actively driving?
Thanks

#1. Yes in theory. Seems you would have two modes that are the same.
#2. Okay to change drive mode any time.

1. No, custom= sport+ in your case so pressing the **** down once is alot faster than turning the dial right 2x's. BUT you dont get that sexy white dial.
2. You can press any mode at any time in any driving scenario. When I'm driving and know I"m about to carve up some sweet gravel, aka, go on a turning on ramp to the freeway, I like to press my custom button which is suspension on sport, that way it stiffens it up nicely
