Are there really that many issues with the RX?

Really? What are you seeing city and hwy?

Maybe I am better off with the GX460- Leases a bit less, and slurps gas like no other!

No issues for me. I am happy with my 17 RX F-Sport for commuting, long drives, traffic, curves, etc.

I don't pay attention to the numbers but merely go by how often it has to be refueled. 20mpg on average is my guess.

Question 2017 Lexus RX 350

Hi Guys,
I'm currently in the market for a 2017 Lexus RX 350 and I came across two common issues for this vehicle. When I filter this forum by highest views, I get RX 350 Excessive noise and vibration issue. Is this a common problem in the 2017 model for all vehicles or just some of them? I also noted the 8 gear tranny has issues with the gears. Would it be better just to buy the 2018 or are owners still experiencing the same issues in the 2018 model as well?

Have you guys experienced any other issues besides the two common ones I've noted above?

If you were to buy again, would you buy this car or would you prefer something different?

Thank you!

I have a 17’. I have the droan which I will get fixed at 10k service. Dont have any issue with tranny other than an intermitten delay accelerating from stop. Other than that no issues over 8500 miles.

I have a 2017 with about 12K miles and I have had no such issues. It rides smooth and quiet even with the 20in rims.

I have 10k miles on 2017 RX350 FWD. If I could do it over, I would not have bought this car. I believe majority of RX350 have the droning/vibration issue. I drove 3 different RX350s and they all had this problem.
If I could do it over, I would get the RX450h, as that's a different powertrain.

Also, the 8 speed hunts gears, so the CVT in the hybrid would be better.

I also dislike the user interface. Hate the mouse.
Also don't like the blind spot monitoring. All it does is flash a dim light without any audible warning. My Mercedes gives a beep when I engage the turn signal and there's a car in my blind spot.

On a positive note, the freeway ride is quiet and comfortable even with my 20 inch wheels. The interior looks nice.

Since BSM gives frequent alerts, an audible beep every time would drive me nuts. No thanks.

Agreed. IMO if you need more than a flashing light on the mirror, you're probably relying entirely too much on the car and probably did not check your blind spots yourself.

The audible beep will only sound when the BSM light is flashing. It works fine on Mercedes and other brands. So I don't know why it would be a problem on Lexus.

When the light is flashing isn't that an indication that something is close but collision is not imminent? When the light is on steady and attempt to move to side there is a audible warning. I got a false audible warning in the winter once when it mistook a snowbank next to the lane as something moving (snowbank not quite parallel to road).

Anyway, at 36K miles drone seems to have gone away (resonance sensitive to build-up in pipe?). I bought the part to replace the sound generator, but not sure I want to change over now.

The peak mileage is disappointing in that it's not any better than my 10 year old highlander with same engine and 6-speed transmission. However, winter mileage is way better. Probably dropping only about 10% instead of 30% for the highlander. It's good for a car this size.

Transmission shifting can be annoying. Shifts keeping the revs below 1800 rpm unless you really push it. Used to be only diesel engines would be driven like that. Guess that's part of the fuel efficiency.

But interior has stood up the the abuse from three young kids quite well. Got the Curt trailer hitch and it was an easy install.
