You plug only to change and then unplug

Some people need to change the tires from summer to winter and vice versa, and need to reprogram the TPMS codes.
Also if you need to look by yourself at diagnostics codes when the check engine light goes on, you may want to use it again.

I am using another brand where I need to use my laptop, not my phone and no exta charges.

Just got mine in the mail. $20. Changed all the settings I wanted, comes with a free month, so I have 30 days to decide if I need to change anything else before I have to pay any more.

Switched it so I can roll all windows down by holding unlock on the key, turned off the seat belt reminder ding, and made it so the mirrors fold when the car is turned off, not only when it's locked. Great little app, not worth a trip to the dealer and the wait, but definitely worth the $20.

I bought it directly by the manufacturer from their website (from China) for 119 $ (USB & Wi-Fi version and it was 99$ for USB only.

Don't worry I also run Windows 10.

Downside is that their dongle configuration software to configure the Wi-Fi, Norton security detects a Trojan horse and removes a DLL.
I disconnect from WI-FI and disable the anti-virus to install the software and configure the dongle

After that all you need to use the Techstream software that comes with it so you don't care if the anti-virus removes the DLL.

It works very well once you get to know how to use the Techstream software..

For ON/OFF options, they can be toggled right in the interface. For the TPMS codes programming, you need to start a small app.

I agree, for the $20 changed fob settings to open windows with unlock, didn’t realize no close with lock available any more.
checked all other settings. Very handy tool for a lot cheaper than the dealer, unless you have a list for your free programming.

I’d be curious as to what “the must changes” are? Which changes do people enjoy/rely on most. Thanks

Default Carista

I just used the Carista tool to make some changes to my 2018 450hl and my 2016 Rav h and it worked perfectly. Wish there was a Lexus setting for not moving the steering wheel when I turn off the engine. Making changes to the settings is very easy.

It was this PDF.. or something similar that i was reading.
I recently got a subscription for techinfo and got some of the service manual. Turns out there IS a parking brake service mode! And for the RX, the only way to do it is with techstream. They dont list a way with a SST or manual way like the NX either. Carista did add some service items though.

Just bought Carista ODB2 adapter from Amazon and got a PRO 1-week pass subscription total of C$53.98.

IMO, well worth the money and very happy to customize features that will cost me minimum of C$75 @ dealer per visit.

So remind me if you know(I used to have a highlander) and I bought an OBD and I think an app to change things. Is this still avail and do you recall the details? Which one and cost? Seems like you could pay for a month to get things the way you want them

Default Carista/OBD and Running boards

I have a question... When I bought my BMW I bought a OBDLINKMX+ to make some changes on the car like you all do with Carista.. This OBD works on many cars it says, but on the RX it says thru 2020. Maybe the article was done in 2020 I dont know.. Do these differ in what they will do/change on any particular car?. Was thinking of just using this....https://www.obdlink.com/obd-apps/obdlink-app/.Looks like it will work and found where Carista app will work with it too, but do I need a Carista App to make changes?

Two options:

1. research which items you will want changed in your vehicle owners manual and have your salesperson get them changed before you ever pick your new vehicle up. Or

2. just buy the Carista OBD for $29.99 and use the one month of free premium use to make your own changes. https://caristaapp.com/pricing
