Default eDestination going away

WOW! I just received this email about eDestination feature going away.

This was one of the key features for me in leasing another RX. My 3rd.

Can we get Lexus to increase number of saved address book entries beyond 100? I had probably 200 in my edestinations.

This was not letter but email sent yesterday.Dear *******

We would like to thank you for being a Lexus Enform connected vehicle customer. We want to inform you the eDestination feature within the Destinations package of Lexus Enform will no longer be available effective July 12, 2017.

As a reminder, your Destination Assist feature is still active and one of our Destination Assist Center Agents is here to help you locate a specific business, address or point of interest and then wirelessly send the destination to your vehicle's navigation system for turn-by-turn directions.‡ You can preset your favorite five addresses, as well as save additional address book entries.

In addition to Destination Assist, Lexus Enform App Suite has functionality to explore places to go and things to do. Through Destination Search, you can find and save points of interest, addresses and more. With Saved Destinations, you can instantly access your recent destinations.

I just use Saved Destinations to send addresses from my phone to my car. I find it a bit easier than eDestinations anyway, and the outcome is the same.

No. Saved Destinations and eDestinations are two different things. Saved Destinations are part of the free app, whereas eDestinations is a paid service.

I am not understanding this. When they sync from the phone to the car where are the destinations? They can only be in 1 of 2 places when searching for them in the car. Either e-destinations folder or address book.

Go into your Enform App Suite in the car (where you find the icons for Pandora, Spotify, Destination Search, etc.) and you will find an icon for Saved Destinations. Click on that and it will ask you if you want to sync it. All saved destinations remain in this location.

This is interesting. I downloaded "Lexus Enform" app suite on google play which appears to be different than "Lexus Enform" remote app.

Can you enter a specific address to saved desintations? I see the categories listed but not sure how to enter an address.

Please let me now. Thanks.

Yes, you can enter a specific address. You just enter the address into the search field in Destination Search on your phone. When the results pull up, click on the right one and hit "Save".

I tried this and found it interesting.

However, there was an update in my vehicle which I downloaded. Now my 2 saved destinations are gone. Is that expected?

did you try syncing saved dest after the update? Might be worth a try. Or just re enter the data. You never know what the updates may result. Maybe a condition that was not tested prior to update release.
Ive updated the app in the car, I didnt notice any missing destinations.

I checked this again. The 2 destinations I entered are in the vehicle. However, they do not appear on the app in the phone. Is that supposed to happen?

So I could have used this for free instead of paying for enform? ugh.

I see the app needs to be running on the phone. Does this use a lot of mobile data? What happens if I turn off the app to avoid using mobile data?

Also, how does this sort destinations? And are there folders available like Enform?

Please let me know. Thanks.
