Hey, we did the same thing today to our 2020 RX. Plastic top is shattered and the mirror popped off of the internal motor. I called the dealer…lol…$1,600 including installation. Unbelievable. Just hope the “pre-painted” parts will match.

They were pre-painted when the car was assembled at the factory, so they should match just as well.

Default Whacked the Driver's Side Glass in Mirror

The glass in the driver's side mirror got whacked by a passing driver, going the other way. There is no other damage to my RX, and it appears that the housing is not damaged in any way and the fold in motor is fine. Can this glass be replaced separately, or will I have to get a whole new mirror with housing etc? Can a good bodyshop handle this (I have a "guy" who is good) or should I just go to the dealer? 2020 RX350.

If you have a body shop you trust, I'd go with that.

You can get the glass here https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts-...al/mirror.html for $65 to $377, depending on options (I assumed you have a Canadian-built car). Blindspot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert gets you the expensive one.

I haven't done one on a modern Lexus, but all the glass I have replaced just pops out with a gentle pry and pops in with no tools. I'll be replacing the complete mirror on my wife's 2019 next week; I'll see what it takes to get the glass out, unless someone with experience tells you first.

$377 for a glass sounds crazy, until you realize a complete mirror is ~$600-$1100, which is also crazy. That's online prices. As I'm sure you've seen in this thread, add 50% or more for dealer price, plus outrageous labor. I expect I'll have my wife's car done in 30 minutes, in the comfort of my own garage. Edit: yup, it took about 30 minutes to replace.

Get the dealer to quote the job, with part numbers, so you know you are ordering the right one online. It can be daunting to figure out.

I'm sure you've figured this out already, but for the record, I don't see that part in the diagrams. I think if that's bad, you're screwed.

Update on my broker mirror glass, driver's side: I saw the posts here, online, about where to order the part. But I decided that if it ended up needing the entire mirror, I'd have trouble returning the part. In other words, I decided a needed a professional to handle this. I took the car to "my guy" (bodyshop), and he got the part 24 hours later, from the local Lexus dealer. The part was $504 (about $125 more than I saw online), plus a minor labor charge to connect the wires and pop in the mirror. It seems to be working fine, as the two indicator lights in the glass flash when starting the car. I'll know more, for sure, when driving more. Thanks for all of the info provided here. This was an expensive pain but I think I did the right thing and will move on and hope for no more such driving issues!

Default Passenger side mirror

What’s up everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve been around. I hope everyone is doing well.

Somebody broke off the passenger side mirror to my 2018 RX and now I need a replacement. Apparently, According to some dealers I can’t just get the base, and I need an entire assembly which has all the internals. Ugh. So stupid, since everything is pretty much operational. Does anybody have any advice on where to get a replacement oem mirror at a decent price? Any vendors working with us these days? the mirror I need is a loaded one with all the options in eminent whitepearl. Thanks everyone.

Default An idea

So I’ve decided to buy an aftermarket mirror being that my oem mirror is technically not damaged. All I really need is the pedestal part for the mirror. This piece doesn’t come by itself, so I ordered an aftermarket mirror to donate the pedestal to my oem mirror. Hopefully the small torx screws holding the pedestal to the mirror all line up between the aftermarket pedestal and the oem mirror. if it works, I’ll wind up saving a ton of money. Hopefully it works out.

Default Broken passenger mirror housing

Hi all, first time poster here. I carelessly hit the passenger mirror while getting out of the garage and part of the mirror housing was broken. The housing cover fell off but I was able to snap it back in. I will try to get this fixed asap but want to ask for your advice on whether the broken housing will compromise the electronics inside (turn signal, camera etc...) if I leave it outside, say in the rain?

This is on a 2017 RX 450h. Appreciate any feedbacks on this 😊
